Edit: I'll update to 5 stars after this week of using it if it keeps working fine.Came yesterday. Everything was properly sealed except for the maschine mk2 box, which was open but everything inside was sealed anyways, and the box which contained said box was sealed too, so I didn't worry about it too much.I could register my product with little to no effort. It's currently working and haven't run into any troubles whatsoever (regarding hardware). To anyone who is interested in mpc style performance this is it. It will do anything you are trying to do. You only need your pc and your mk2. It's also a great deal for getting vsts and sound libraries, also a custom DAW for maschine that you can also use for your daily music production needs. Don't expect to be inmediately as swift as those youtube people who are finger drumming hard. You need to practice, just don't give up.

There are so many great things I can say about this device I don't know where to start. Anybody who has been debating on buying this what are you waiting for, DO IT DO IT NOW. Make sure you have money for the sound expansion pack. Register at the Native Instruments website also, they always have specials. I was able to get 9 of the sound pack for $99 total, when they usually cost $49 a piece. They give you a $25 e-voucher to use. The sounds are amazing, the ease of use is amazing. Make sure you have a DAW to use. I use Audacity just to fade the start and ends of my songs, other than that everything else is done on Maschine 2.0. I've been using hardware for years and I bought this and never looked back. Buy it you won't regret it at all.UPDATE: I did upgrade to the Maschine Studio only because I found a deal I just couldn't pass up. The above statements still apply.

This is a pretty dope little sampler - controller. It is a great compliment to the Z2, S4, Audio 8, X1, F1, or any NI hardware - software combo . The latency can be adjusted to your needs which is great if you are processing multiple programs at the same time. The lights on this controller really bring it back to life from that boring orange that NI installed on the previous model. You can sample in and sample out with this controller. The only difference between this micro and the regular Maschine is the midi in out on the back panel and the dual screen combo which isn't included on this controller. On screen navigation could use a little work. There needs to be directional arrows other than just right and left. Up and Down would be nice. I'm sure NI has the next 5 mixers ready to ship after this one has been played by the Traktor crew. Jeremy Ellis is a beast on the Maschine and he proves it in his latest demo video at the Native Instruments web page. Lets break the machine down from a DJ - Hip Hop artist point of view.Facts about the NI Maschine Mirco Mk21. Maschine micro has 16 touch sensitive velocity pads2. Maschine is only a controller and has no built in sound3. Machine cannot be used as a stand alone sampler which means it has no in or out or Aux jack, that created a huge problem form me4. Machine has to be bundled with a number of other expensive software programs to actually unleash its full potential5. If I see another company josh Technics idea of calling it the Mk2 I'm going to puke (Technics is dead R.I.P.) give it up and move on to Stanton or some other high end deck already) lol6. Maschine Micro Mk2 is only Native Instruments sample controller, there are several controllers for Ableton live by Akai, M Audio and a few othersI gave Maschine Micro Mk2 a solid 4 stars for the overall quality and nice clean look. The sounds included are not bad I just wish NI would loosen up and give better deals on the virtual instrument plug ins

Firstly, there are dvds of the software components, as well as downloads. You have to download the program, and can use dvds for the sound library and other included instruments. Not sure why this info wasn't included online anywhere. But the dvds didnt work for me. Installing the software took a long time. If you can handle downloading and installing like 6+ gigabytes, I applaud you. Me, not so much. As far as the maschine itself, my first impression was that it's amazing. However, most of the stuff it does, one can do in fl studio. It's cool in the sense, it has a hands on approach. And for programming drums, its the best thing I've found. I am a bit daunted by how slow song creation is, but that can be a good thing. I especially like the ability to go from pad mode to keyboard mode on the controller itself. I look forward to trying other functions, like chopping up sounds.Update: After using it more, I realize now why you wouldn't use the included samples and instruments. Aside from the typical kicks, snares, high hats, toms, claps, etc., which are mediocre, the instruments included are not very good for general use in music. As stated before, it's got a hands on approach to using keyboard mode for playing sounds "chromatically," or like you would in fl studio. Wish I had saved my money for an mx 49 and just skipped this step.

I like it but, it is a pain to get it working and installing properly. It is also tough to use. I guess in a couple months I will have figured out how to actually make beats.

It arrived on time. It's a great instrument to use with acoustic guitar to record music & songs. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to enhance his/her music.

très bonne machine, intuitive et facile à prendre en main. Seul le logiciel est un peu casse tête et décevant

Serious song making kit, in a very affordable package. Not to be confused with a standalone groovebox (e.g. Novation Circuit), Maschine Mikro MKII requires a computer to run its associated software, Maschine 2.0.The software package includes Komplete Select, which contains a huge number of virtual synth plug-ins, but obviously less than the more expensive software offerings from Native Instruments (NI). Even this cut down version is more than enough for certainly any genre of electronic music you might think of, and additional software for a particular style of music can also be purchased from NI directly if required. The hardware itself is robust, and you can actually perform nearly all of the software functions direct from the Mikro, so only very limited mouse work required. It's worth pointing out that, because of the reduced size, there can be a fair amount of dexterity required for some of the more complex functions. The Maschine can even be used as a sampler for even greater possibilities. You can also use the Maschine instruments as plug-ins to many popular creation suites (e.g. Ableton Live), but I confess I've not tried this myself yet.For the money, this is incredible value and any bedroom musicians looking to step up to a more varied setup, possibly using software for the first time, will only find this limited by your own creativity (once you've mastered at least the basic workflow of course). The software is identical to that used across the Maschine hardware range, and the provided sounds are professional quality. Also, ensure your PC is at least reasonably current, with plenty of spare storage, to ensure that you easily manage the required specifications. Finally, if buying second hand, ensure that the previous owner has deregistered the associated software (full instructions via NI), otherwise you'll be limited to running the software in Demo Mode.In summary, this package is amazing, as long as you understand you require a suitably specced PC to run Maschine.
