I purchased the Nebula 4k SE cosmos projector and bought this ceiling mount to use for my home theater. It is simple and easy to install and works well for the Nebula projector. I mounted the projector upside down in my theater room.

I have a lot of camera tripods with similar mechanisms - a ball pivot with a bolt to tighten it and hold it in place. This is far more stable than any of them. The overall mount flexes a little bit, but it's definitely not an issue holding my Nebula Cosmos projector. The length is going to be too much for a ceiling mount if you have 9' ceilings and are using it with a Cosmos projector. About a foot down for the mount, plus about another foot for the projector itself, and it'd be very easy to accidentally hit. But, It's perfect for a vaulted ceiling, where you can adjust the drop to approximately match the top edge of your screen.

It holds well my Mars3 proyector but the max. weight capacity recommended is pretty close to the projector’s weight so my recommendation is to fix the mount arm perpendicular to the ceiling.

EDIT: I figured out how to lock down horizontal motion a bit better. I initially installed by screwing on the projector most of the way to the screw mount stop then tightening the lock nut down to meet the projector as tight as possible. This had the horizontal play. Instead, I loosened the lock nut until it hit the base of the screw mount, tightened the projector to meet the lock nut (ball joint locked), then loosed the ball joint to align the projector. It still doesn't feel as secure as I'd like, but it is secure enough that plugging something into the projector won't throw it dramatically out of alignment.Original: I mounted to the ceiling attached to a bracket I put up between two joists. Seems solid, precisely built, and easy to adjust. My main complaint is that when a projector is mounted (Nebula Cosmos) and fully tightened down, there is no lock on the horizontal plane. The ball joint locks in tightly and the projector is solidly mounted, but it'll turn left and right with the force of a pinky finger, or a dangling HDMI cable. Very annoying when I paid 3x the amount of other stands on the promise of greater quality. It comes with concrete anchors, not drywall anchors, and honestly I'd never trust a somewhat heavy $500 projector to drywall anchors.

USED TO INSTALL IN CEILING A NEBULA PROJECTOR; SO FAR, SO GOOD!

Have been using this mount for our Nebula Cosmos projector for almost 3 months now. It seems very sturdy and I don't have any worries about it falling. I like how it's sleek and doesn't call for too much attention. Paired with wire covers, we were able to integrate the projector in our room pretty seamlessly.Edited: a year later and it’s still holding up like it did when we first got it. A great buy!

Quick and easy to install. Sturdy. The pole screws into the base so it’s easy to to remove if you don't want to remove the base.

I had concerns about how I was going to wire everything to my new projector, how I'd be able to make it fit just right for viewing on the screen, not to mention the speakers. All those things we easy. Super quick and easy. The pain came from installing the dang projector stand! Why the heck do they send cement anchor bolts? Not very many ceilings are made out of cement. Grrr! Just stupid. Anyway I ended up using some drywall anchors I had in the garage, it was just annoying as all get out. Just move onto a better product. This one is a piece of junk.

Clearly, I must trust this mount if I’m willing to sit directly under it! My Nebula Cosmos Max is mounted on the ceiling, directly over my couch. If I didn’t trust the design, I would sit under it! It does what it is designed to do, and it is so easy to install and adjust. I had my electrician install an outlet in my ceiling so I don’t have to worry about running a long extension to the projector.
