I've purchased whole sets of step up rings before. They come like a little conical pyramid, one ring screwed into the next larger ring. This type was my first experience with step up rings so I didn't know that their light weight and eagerness to bind was not normal. I had taken to using teflon tape with those rings to make sure I could unscrew them again. As long as the size is appropriate for your use, this Neewer step up ring, from 72mm to 77mm, seems to be of heavier weight. It also screws in without issue, unscrews as needed, and stays put in between. I'm thinking those older step up rings were lighter and more easily got out of round because these more substantial rings seem to have no problem. Keep in mind, when I say "substantial" they just thick enough and made of a material rigid enough that I'm not encountering the type of problems I have in the past. You get two of these rings per package.I have a number of legacy telephoto lenses. They all have a 72mm filter ring. But I also have a collection of 77mm filters. This is all legacy equipment being put to modern use. Filters don't need to be put flush with a lens, they can protrude a little, and that's how installation looks on my telephoto lenses - slightly protruding, slightly larger diameter than the lens itself, otherwise not remarkable at all. These days I'm no longer using SKY and UV filters, but I continue to use polarizing filters and star filters, so I'm getting a lot of benefit from this step up ring. I like it, it's an improvement over what I was using before. I hope my experience has been useful in your shopping activity.

I ordered this NEEWER 72-77mm Step Up Ring Adapter (2 Pack) with Cleaning Cloth so that I could use my 77mm filters on lenses that have a 72mm filter size. When I first started buying filters, I would always get the size that I needed for a particular lens. This got very expensive very quickly. I decided that I would purchase future filters in the size that would fit my largest diameter lens and use step up rings for lenses that had smaller diameters. While that was a decent strategy, I ended up with a lot of 77mm filters and now, of course, the vast majority of my lenses take 82mm filters. I still have two lenses that use 72mm filters, and I picked up this set of rings with those lenses (and my vast collection of 77mm filters) in mind. One issue with some step up rings is that will cause vignetting on wide angle lenses. These step up rings, though, are extremely thin. In other words, they do not extend out from the lens the way some other rings do, so vignetting should not be a problem. I can't offer a guarantee on that since neither of the lenses that I am using these rings with are wide angle. The quality of these rings matches what I have come to expect from Neewer. Over time, they have really stepped up their game and I have no hesitation buying any of their products. The rings screw on and off my lenses smoothly with no binding. Similarly, my filters screw into the rings smoothly and can be removed easily even when I have tightened them down more than I typically do.

These work perfectly to fit my 77mm filters on my Fuji lens with a 72mm ring. The threads go on smooth with no indication of defects in the threads. The adapter itself is very slim and I had no vignetting from the ring or the attached ND filter on the widest (16mm) end of the zoom.I did find that the ND filter was very difficult to remove from the ring (ring came off the lens super easy) with very little pressure during install so just like always be very careful how hard you twist during installation. It would be a good idea to have a filter wrenches or even a cheap silicon bracelet in your bag to help with removal. I don't think this is a negative on this product at all, just a fact of life with step up rings.Overall I'm super happy and really happy with the 2 pack so I can just keep one on a CPL and one on the VND filters without having to constantly try to remove the ring.

I needed some step up rings for my new camera lens and this was the exact size I was looking for. They work great! Neewer is a trustworthy brand so I know anything I get from them is going to of great quality!

I just purchased a telescope/lens that has 72mm filter threads on the front to allow use of conventional photographic filters. Unfortunately, majority of my camera filters are 77mm or larger. These 72-77mm step up rings allow me to use any of my 77mm filters with this telescope. These Neewer rings are well constructed, have a nice finish and threads on smoothly. As with all Neewer products, they are of great quality and value.

No issues fitting a 77mm ND filter onto a 72mm lens and getting the ring removed from both.

Extremely disappointed with this step up ring… I have a brand new polariser, and a diffuser, and I attached them both to step up rings (which I bought so I can use my filters across ALL LENSES) now I cannot get it off… this ridiculous error has lost me full functionality to £100 worth of filters…
