This blaster is great! Many people complain about jamming. It definitely will jam - but there is a solution.Hold down the flywheel for a bit before pressing the trigger. To stop firing when there are still darts in the drum, you should NOT release the flywheel and the trigger at the same time. Nope. You should release the trigger first, then wait a second, and release the flywheel. Why??? Ahhhhhhh!!! Maybe it was better when it was jamming! A junk Nerf gun jamming is at least something I can understand! So the darts get stuck because the flywheel is not spinning quickly enough but the conveyor belt pushes them in.So, when you let the flywheel spin for a second, then press the trigger, the flywheel is hopefully going to be actually SPINNING, and the dart is going to be like, 'I'm getting the hell out of here!' When you STOP firing, if you release both the flywheel trigger and the actual shooting trigger at the same time, the flywheel is going to stop, but the conveyor belt that pushes the darts FROM the drum magazine thingy TO the flywheel that moves when you press the trigger is going to be like, 'just shoot one more dart? Please? Just one?'And the flywheel is going to say, 'I'm not ready! Oh. We're jammed.' And THAT is why.The drum has not given me any trouble pushing the darts up while firing, which is absolutely amazing, considering the hyper rate of fire, when you don't jam it. That's right. When YOU don't jam it. Assume that it's your fault first. You didn't use it properly. Try to find a solution. Look inside. Figure it out. Then either do better next time, or it's all Nerf's fault. Only then, I say, is a bad review warranted. Some people say it eats batteries. That's expensive. You're spending four extra dollars every month. With that covered, let's move on to the pros and cons. Yep, it actually has cons. I just am saying that it's relatively easy to avoid jamming the HyperFire.Pros (yay)Firepower: five darts a second doesn't sound overly unrealistic if you compare it with all of Nerf's other unreasonable claims.Accuracy: I would expect junk accuracy from a full auto blaster, but it seems relatively accurate. Super accurate when compared with some other junk.Comfortable: the thingy in front of the drum is really comfortable to hold, and makes it feel a lot lighter and easier to move around. Plus it has a cheek rest for aiming. Yay!Style: this blaster is really stylish. It also is quite intimidating for anyone looking at the barrel. Looks cool! That was da pros (yay)! But it's time to address... the cons!!!Cons (nooooo)Can jam if used incorrectly: I think we covered this. To start firing, press flywheel and wait a second before triggering, to stop, let go of trigger, wait a second, then let go of flywheel.Comfort: the shoulder stock could be made much better. It's a flat plastic thingy with small grooves for traction. I don't mind traction, but it's flat, without any curve to fit your shoulder. The jam door is hard to open: you need to pull the button on the jam clearing door really hard to open.Weight: the HyperFire's weight is considerable. It's not really heavy, but try holding it with one hand, with your arm outstretched away from you.Mobility: see Weight. It's really hard shooting round corners without exposing yourself. To do that, you would have to hold it with one hand (see Weight) and your gun would be easily pushed to the side and you would be stupidly inaccurate. Works best in open areas.Need D batteries (not included): this is a small con; D batteries are cheap and and it's more than worth it for all that firepower. Conclusion: I would like to see a Nerf Elite blaster that beats this blaster firepower by a significant amount. The only place I probably wouldn't use it is in a place with lots of corners. I might use it anyway for the challenge, or because I'm too lazy to load a different one, or because it might not really be such a bad choice, if you're considering buying a blaster with a great firepower package, or just some sort of great blaster generally, and I'm really bad at making transitions between subjects, anyway, five stars. Great. It's like a Nerf Rapidstrike made great again.

The blaster is awesome. The kids have a blast with this one all day. I see people say it jams, but here is the solution. You need to press and hold the lower trigger first until the flywheel is completely up to speed.THEN you can press the upper trigger to fire the darts.DON’T LET GO OF THE LOWER TRIGGER UNTIL YOU HAVE STOPPED FIRING DARTS.They key is purely to make sure the flywheel (lower trigger) is up to speed BEFORE you start shooting darts AND to continue to hold the lower trigger (flywheel speed trigger) UNTIL THE LAST DARTS ARE OUT OF THE BLASTER.I would buy this toy again all day. The batteries (4 D-Batteries) last a very long time. The kids have got hours and hours of enjoyment from this one.Great gift!

It’s a little underpowered with D battery’s, but once I put a 2s lipo on it, it definitely woke it up and it’s now one of my favorite guns

Nerf war! About my family of four and 20 middle to high school kids had an all out nerf war in the back yard. We had so much fun. It worked flawlessly and helped take down most kids. Loading and firing was a breeze. For sure grab this for tons of fun!
