Works no issues. But like the other reviews it gets hot. I dont like hot. We will see how long it last. I use it for inmarsat decoding. With the patch antenna.

Seems to work well, I do wish you could turn the bias tee on or off. (Bias tee is always on)Do t think there is an issue with it but I was feeding two radio with one cable effectively putting the bias voltage on the front end of my other SDR. Again may not be an issue but I don’t like doing it. Bought a dc blocker just in case

It gets pretty darn hot, especially if you've got it plugged into your laptop outside in the sun (I live in Florida). Despite the heat, it still works! The longest I've run it was probably 30-45 minutes and it performed well. I picked up local air traffic and the NOAA weather channel. I could not find anything else on UHF/VHF. I'm just looking for more stuff to do with it! I'm thinking about hooking it up to a RaspPi seeing what I can do remotely. The possibilities with SDR and exciting!

This NESDR SMArTee v2 SDR seems to working well so far after a 3 weeks of good use almost everyday. Does get warm to the touch, but that is normal. Have not noticed any frequency drift as the Smartee v2 is heated up after an hour of use. I also own the NESDR SMArTee XTR SDR, which I have been comparing. I just do not know how the RTL-SRD v3 has a wider frequency range of 500 kHz - 1700MHz as compared to the Smartee v2 frequency range of 25 MHz-1700 MHz. Improvements that I would make to this NESDRs would be to produce new products with a USB 3.0 connector instead of the USB 2.0 connector that they come with now, which should not cost that much more. Produce a SDR with a full bandwidth of 25 MHz - 2000 MHz with no gaps in frequencies. Wished Nooelec NESDR could make something similar to AirSpy or SDRplay SDRs with a 12-bit or 14-bit ADC with all their functionality, but with a U.S. focus on AM and FM band stop or notch filters for our frequency ranges, this might be hard to do since most of the world is on different frequency standards for FM than the U.S. Just waiting on a better antenna to arrive, which is a discone, to really test this SDR and SMArTee XTR out on.

I ordered the SMArTee to replace an older model NooElec SDR dongle to use with an HF up-converter as a second receiver and bandscope for use with my amateur radio transceiver. It operated immediately with my existing setup, drivers, and software (HDSDR). From a cold start, monitoring WWV, after a few tens of Hertz drift in the first minute, it remained rock stable for over the half-hour I monitored it, at least to the resolution I had in my setup and certainly to within anything I required for my use. Running A/B tests with my ham receiver and the same antenna, I found the sensitivity to be nearly equivalent, which exceeds my expectations. The included bias tee powers my HF converter. I definitely recommend it for this use.

This was my first NOOELEC purchase, after being disappointed by the competition (not gonna mention the name, but their initials are RTL-SDR). Very happy with the performance. The fact that it is made in USA and Canada is also a HUGE plus! Highly recommended!

Used this with Ham It Up Upconverter, used as standalone with SDR# to scan airband. It worked until 3/1/22 but suddenly went dead. I think it had a weak circuit that blew when power was applied from usb port. Although it is powered by the usb, there seemed to be a scenario when it was plugged in a new port and stopped working. Tried multiple laptops, pc's and usb ports to no avail. So it only lasted 6 weeks.

If you are using the NESDR SMArTee v2 SDR to receive the Goes 16/18 weather sats, you may need added cooling. I noticed the SDR runs hot and as temperature increased I started loosing packets. I ended up mounting a heatsink to the case of the SDR to resolve the problem. I read that frequencies higher than 1.3Ghz, that temperature has a greater effect on the SDR not locking up on frequency.

Reliable and good performance for ADSB flight tracking. Powers the LNA directly via the integrated bias T. Nice compact form and metal case for long term usage.

I gave this a bad review. Wrongly so. The issue was that during one night, Windows 10 upgraded itself. That screwed up the NooElec NESDR SMArTee - Premium RTL-SDR 'Drivers". Windows has become a definite nightmare and there is no effective way to stop it's upgrades - I've tried. Anyway my apologies to NooElec. It was not their fault! With updated drivers, the device works perfectly; hot, but perfectly!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Ran Hot Now It's Dead!I hardly used it. When I did use it it ran very hot; too hot to touch. Now it's totally dead! I was saving up for the ham it up frequency extender and was looking forward to expanding my listening experience. Even got a head nod from my wife:-) Too bad. I won't be wasting any more money on these devices!
