There are a few minor finish flaws, but nothing major and tbh fine at this price point, imo. I am just super detail-oriented, I notice everything, and used to be a bad nitpicker lol.The case, totally keeping the case, it survived getting to here from f'ing China in this thing, that's good enough for me LOL. Holds two bows, as well, little storage area for your rosin, cleaning cloth, etc.The bow seems good, it plays the strings. I didn't test the rosin as I use D'Addario Kaplan and you don't want to mix rosins, I've read. I have better bows to use, but it's fine enough to get started. It tuned up, the pegs stay put, and it sounds pretty good to me! I'm a beginner, have played a little cello, and this seems like a fine enough instrument for a beginner to me. I play in a metal band and I didn't want to do the overdone violin or cello thing, and I think a 5-string with a lower F string was exactly what I wanted vs adding the extra violin string. The range of the viola feels a lot better to me, especially this low F.Not sure how I'll find replacement strings, yet lol, but that is future me's problem :D (edit, it turns out they just put another C string on it, so it's looser tuned down to F... bummer)Anyway, I'm giving this 5-stars for what it is, a $200 acoustic-electric 5-string viola, with a good case and a bow. The bridge slot for mine doesn't appear crooked like I read someone else post, thankfully.Anyway, initial impressions are pretty good :) I'd probably only upgrade this to a fully electric one for shows.

Good materials, low grade construction. For the price itʻs a good deal. If i had to do it over, i would take it up a notch. You get what you pay for and for beginners it a solid selection.

Well, I was super excited to get it, and I go to set up the bridge, and, my goodness, I tried, and tried, I looked up every video I could. I did everything they said. Then, I stumbled upon a video about what and how the bridge was supposed to look. This particular viola has a plastic slot in which the bridge sits in. Well, after measuring, and then taking it to a viola shop, yup, it was crooked.

My first violin/viola. Easy enough to set the bridge and tune. I did add fine tuners straight away (I don’t think I could have tuned without those). Seems to be a decent bow.Was able to resin up and saw away in ~30 minutes…Have not yet tried the electronics…Let ‘em know you zydeco…

Not the best quality...even for a cheap viola. It looks like it's made of plastic. Bridge placement is very tricky, took many attempts to set. You have to be very careful while tuning and applying pressure to the bridge. The factory strings are garbage, and broke almost immediately on first tuning. Pegs are pretty finicky, hard to keep it in tune as they slip. (You will need peg dope) All and all, It works ok for the purpose I'm using it for, practicing at my home away from home. Sound quality is sufficient, nothing exciting. I probably would not buy it again given the chance. But I'm not returning it either.
