Boy, this stuff is fun. And pretty!I’ve been using new brothread since I bought my Brother SE600 last year. I indulged in the 60 color, then for my birthday I received the 20 pack of metallic thread.Now I found this 40 pack, including the variegated, which I’ve been eyeing for a while, two more metallics and a bunch of new colors (if you already have the 60, take note, there are very few duplicates… check out the picture of my rainbow of threads). Me? Leave a family dinner last night because the Ring notified me Amazon delivered the box? Um… I plead the 5th.If you’re wondering about getting into machine embroidery, be aware it’s not as expensive as you might think. I picked up my machine for about $400 new, then I invested in the thread – and make sure it’s quality thread, there’s crap out there. This stuff is good, it doesn’t shred or break. The only time I’ve ever had a problem it’s been user error (didn’t tighten the needle enough, usually).If you use metallic thread, make sure you get the needles specifically for it – suggestion: Schmetz 80/12 metallic needles. They make it easy to use the thread that gives your projects so much glitter.Bottom line: if you want to supplement your existing stock, or try something new, or just get started, this is a great choice.

I wanted to get started with a new embroidery module and didn’t know what colors I would want to use. This variety pack is perfect for starting! I have tons of colors to chose, including variegated and metallics. The thread performed fine for my Bernina machine and I was able to use many different colors without having to go back and forth to a store! Also included are several net covers to keep the thread spooling well. I am super pleased with this purchase.

I was really surprised by how much I like the variegated ones. The whale border is straight blue, but the inside and the bookmark border is the blue variegated.The only negative is that there isn't a way to keep the ends on the spool, they just unravel and make a mess. For that I took off a star, cuz honestly that's even on the cheapest spools at Walmart. And I don't want to buy one of their Thread Keeper things.

This was a great buy! Just bought a new embroidery machine and I wanted to try it out. For the price this string was really good and you get a good amount of different colors for the price. Shipping was fast and it's really durable for working with. The metallic strings I would recommend that you use a needle with a bigger hole so the strings runs through easier without it getting stuck. Not bad string for when you're starting out or for doing projects with. Highly recommend the seller. Thank you!

A beautiful selection of colours but has not worked well for me. Lots of breakages despite following the directions given.
