Be careful in ordering this mat. The description says new never issued, however mine was not new. The seller said I just ordered the wrong one, however that's his word against mine. I'm cool with it being used, just don't advertise it new if its not. I felt like one of those bait and switch deals people warn you about. Anyways just a warning on this one.

Although it is possible that the item I received was "new" and never issued, it was probably never issued because of the multiple 8-inch cuts on the mat surface. The specific mat I received may have been on top of the new government issue shipment and was damaged during unpacking by a box cutter. But it's exactly the same type I wanted, and a bit of duct tape on the cuts and it gets the job done. A bit pricey for a damaged item but the damage didn't render the mat nonfunctional, so I made do.

I was issue these in the Army. It is a good way to put something between you and the ground or in my case case i use it on a cot and it’s great for insulation. Don’t want that slight breeze at night to zap your body heat away. Perfect for a cot.
