The crt I picked up only had RF so I needed this modulator to hook up consoles. Aside from that device you’ll need to purchase a RF to RF cable to connect the device to the TV. After hooking it all together it Works great and the price was reasonable. I didn’t want to spend too much on it.

I needed this to connect a dvd/vcr to an older television. It is exactly what I needed.It works GREAT!

I plugged everything and it worked fine. There's a red LED on the front that stays on all the time to let you know the box is receiving power. I barely used it but always left it plugged in so it was always using power and was always warm. After a couple weeks of just sitting there, I noticed the red LED wasn't on anymore. I checked the box and it wasn't warm as it usually was. So I unplugged everything and plugged it back in. Nothing. It wouldn't light up or anything. It didn't even pass signal through the CATV pass through ports. I guess I'll have to try another brand other than NIPPON AMERICA and this time maybe it'll last longer than a couple of weeks. I install these types of devices for a living and will not be buying NIPPON AMERICA products again.

Worked fine for a year until the coax port running to the tv broke off, I opened it up the fix it and noticed the quality on the inside was very cheap. Brittle plastic and hot glue holding it together. Save your money and buy a nicer one.

It is just as easy to install as my old Phillips model, but the picture loses some integrity when playing a video or DVD. I found a new Phillips model on ebay. We'll see how that one works. I don't know if it's the quality of the item, or a defective model. But I've waited too late to return it. I don't use the player that much.
