My Cub Cadet ZT riding mower (with a Kohler engine) brand new battery was not holding a charge. Youtube videos suggested that this Voltage regulator might have gone bad. While they suggested to use a Voltage meter to ensure this was the issue, I felt the low cost of replacing this one part would allow me to just try and see if worked. The part fit perfectly and was a simple installation once I figured out where it was on the engine. It worked! Battery now charges fine. Saved me a $150 service call.

I tested this with a meter before installing it. One of the charging terminals is shorted out to the battery terminal. Sent it back. Tried a different brand. Just spend the money for a decent product if you want a good one.
