The old chime box cover I had was from the 80s and was a bit out of place in a more modern living room. This replacement fits in perfectly. It doesn't stand out, and if you do notice it, you think nothing of it. It's the same color and style as my thermostat, and since it's a little bit wider than the old one (inner dimensions that snap on to the box are still the same), it covers the places where I chipped a little paint removing the old one. The only negative is that it's a bit harder to remove than the older cover. However, that means its very sturdy, and how often is one removing their chime box cover anyways?

House is over 25 years old with white items that have yellowed over time. We got a new white thermostat that shamed the yellowrd doorbell cover that looked ancient. Got this new cover and replaced the old dingy one in about 1 minute. It took more time to get the ladder than to replace the cover. It just snapped into place. I'm very happy with its contemporary style, quality, price point, and ease of installation.

I used this to cover an old doorbell mechanism. We were renovating and modernizing the kitchen and the new cover looks great. The only reason I gave it one less star is because it was hard to install it over the old mechanism. We had to hang it with a screw.

The photo is hard to tell, but the new white one fit perfectly where the old yellowed beige one had been. It was easy to pop it on. It was a major improvement.

Moved into a new apartment and the doorbell didn't work. The maintenance man found a used one that worked but had no cover. Found this one and it snapped in place and looks great.

The back of this is open and didn't have the forms that the original cover has. It also didn't fit right as it wouldn't go flat against the wall. I'm not sure if it's because of the depth of the box being too shallow or if it's because of the overall shape of the box.The top and bottom sides were a bit concave. I'd don't know if that was due to the mold design or the low quality of the molding or plastic used. But it didn't fit on straight away like the original box did and once on it wouldn't go flat against the wall leaving a gap of 1/4 to 1/2 inch.I returned this straight away. Too bad as the original cover from the 70's really looks outdated. The price on this is very low and I would have been willing to pay a bit more if it was better engineered and constructed.
