I compared my old one and this, This one does not have an inner spring. I bought Dorman 600-102XD which cost 3 times higher but has the spring. The inner spring functions as to spring back out the collapsed rubber bulb when 4 wd is disengaged. Without the spring, the cable has to pull it out, which will eventually fail..... So it's better to have a costly part but good car part...... I don't want to take my car apart again to replace the inferior broken part.

Great product easy to install and appears to be working as it should I haven't had a good chance to really utilize my four-wheel drive yet but we'll find out this winter

It does what it should. Doesn't seem a problem to unlock without a spring. Cleaned and lubed cable with dry lithium grease. Live in the desert so it's dry climate.

I feel like if you off roaded alot it wouldn't last very long , the rubber that it is made with is thin and very flimsy.

I have had issues with my 4x4 in my 2005 Chevy Blazer for a while, this was the first thing I ordered to replace. While im sire this part is working (im assuming I have a vacuum leak else where) the quality of this part is lacking. The rubber is super thin and it is missing the spring mechanism inside which will pull the cable for the front differential back into the disengaged position. Unfortunately I have not been able to see how well this part performs, but based on the quality alone I would go a different direction. Fits perfectly though and it is a cheap fix if the actuator is your problem!

The rubber for the actuator seemed very very thin don’t know how long it will last
