The Crescent Nicholson single-cut bastard mill files sharpen mill or circular saws and are ideal for draw filing and finishing metals. The rectangular shape lets you smooth and sharpen straight surfaces. 2 square edges allow you to make grooves fixed at the same width as the file, and all sizes taper slightly in width to improve access in slots.
From the Manufacturer

Nicholson files are the best in my opinion, they are definitely heavy duty

I heavily rely on customer reviews and compose mine accordingly. The wonders of modern technology! Had no idea the old bastard file I had been using was so dull. Wow! This new one is incredible. I can feel this "bite" into the material. Check out my photos. I sort of went crazy with the photos thinking I was photographing a new car from every angle. But hopefully they help you. Nicholson has a great reputation, even factoring that it is no longer in the US. For me, no need to shop around for another brand. Love that this comes packaged with a handle. (Many don't.) The jury is out whether a plastic handle is inferior to wood. I'm okay with plastic for this application. My only problem is what to do with the old files. They already know they've been put out to pasture but they could get an attitude and form a File gang with clever name. I paid full price; no discounts.

It’s first job was to sharpen my lawn mower blade. It worked great. Glad I got the handled version. Good tool.

The file itself is fine. It does the job and looks like it will last. I wish it came with either a wooden handle or a handle made of tougher material. Upon first use, and hitting it on my vice a few times while sharpening three axes, the plastic handles has several chips in it.
