What can I say? It's a Nicholson file. It comes without a handle, but I normally file that way.

I've needed one of these for a long time. I got it for a specific project and it worked perfectly. I made a handle from acacia wood from a tree in my back yard. Always use a handle. Always store files with some kind of divider so they don't bang into each other. Don't throw out old files. Send them to Boggs Tool Works in Los Angeles for sharpening. The website is hard to understand but it is cheap enough to send in all your files. Postage is the biggest part of the cost and that's not much.

This file is bigger than I though it would be and works for holes that are at least 1/2" diameter. Any smaller, it becomes difficult to insert and work around the edges. I used it to file drilled holes in plastic. It takes time and patience to get a smooth result. This is too big for filing rim tape for presta valves on bikes.

I had worn out my Nicholson round hand file some time ago and needed a fast replacement. Amazon, as usual,. sent my order on time and my project was finished on schedule. This is a quality tool that performs well. It is nice to have it back in the tool rack.

Took a few passes with it and works great. I was surprised to see that it is now made in Brazil, the existing old ones in my collection were all made in Canada, so no idea when they switched, no reason to expect that it is less quality though.
