This is a great LED light for a 10-gallon fish tank. It has enough light to grow plants such as Valysneria and Amazon swords, but not so much light that you would need to add CO2 to the tank. Keep the light active for no more than six hours to avoid algae growth.I use this light on a ten-gallon shrimp tank. Frogbit and Salvinia float on the water. Those two floating plants grow very fast. I have to regularly remove about 50% of them every 3 weeks to keep them from layering. The growth is fast enough that these plants cover the top of the water and then they begin to layer. The build quality of this light is surprisingly good for this price point. Only time will tell how long they will last. I have been happy with them so far. They provide enough light to grow medium to low light demand plants. The fixture has been reliable. I have it connected to a mechanical timer. The light stays on for six hours each day. I stopped adding liquid fertilizer because the plants are growing too fast for my liking. This tank has approximately 10 freshwater mussels and an assortment of shrimp. I have Amano, Ghost, and red Cherry shrimp in this tank. Yes, I know the mussels and the Amanos will not complete their lifecycles in this tank. The former will need a host fish while the later will need brackish water. I do not keep fish in this tank.I can recommend this LED lighting system for fish-only tanks. It will also work well for tanks which only have medium-demand to low-light demand plants. It is perfect for floating plants. The angle of the light covers the surface area of a 10-gallon tank. This is a basic but solid light. It does not come with fancy lighting effects. It comes in daylight and that is it. You cannot create lightning effect and thunderstorms. But ask yourself if you really need those. I do not. It does not have a remote control. You will need to provide your own timer. Other than that, it is a great light for a 10-gallon tank.Highly recommended.

This fits my 36.25 inch wide Marineland 40 gallon tank (their 40 B, the one sold at Petsmart) and it honestly looks like it could fit a tank that’s even wider. The light itself is about 28 inches wide and each “wing†could comfortably extend 8 inches on each side, so it could probably go close to 45 inches. The light might sag a bit if they are extended that far though, since I don’t think it’s totally designed for that. If you’re looking for something for a tank that’s a bit over 36 inches wide, this is definitely a safe bet though. The light is bright enough to illuminate the entire tank to a great viewing level. I haven’t had it long enough, so I can’t comment on its longevity, but so far the light seems durable enough. Also, the timer function works well so far.

Si quieras está lámpara para alto requerimientos de terrarios o acuario no la recomiendo debes de usar dos para ese propósito, aunque por lo demás es liviana, cómoda y funcional

I am using the 18-24†model on a 30†wide 29 gallon freshwater aquarium. I have retrofitted the old T5 fluorescent tube light hood using this LED light. The original tube was 24â€, this light is smaller yet at 18â€. I will add some low light plants in the coming weeks. Currently, the tank is a fresh build and has just started cycling. The light penetration in my 18†deep tank is excellent. The overall light spread, edge to edge is perfect. Honestly, I would not want more light. I have turned down the brightness to 60% even. This light was super easy to program. The instructions are simple and clear. There are 2 light channels, one runs all the white & RG LED’s. The second channel runs the blue LED’s. The default setting has all the lights on at 09:00, channel one off at 17:00 (8hrs) and the blue only for an additional couple of hours. I extended the blues to 22:00 and may go back and adjust channel 1 to come on later in the morning for the 8 hour period, for more evening white light viewing time.I also set the sunrise/sunset feature to 30 minutes. As I understand the lights will slowly ramp up intensity for the first 30 minutes and ramp down (dim) during the last 30 minutes of the channel 1 cycle.Default brightness was 100% on channel 1 and 60% on channel 2. The light fixture remains cool to the touch while on and while on for several hours. You do need to set the time on the controller as well. This will ensure the auto on/off feature is enabled and works to your schedule. All time is in military time, easy and quick to set.I was going to purchase the more expensive model, but the size I wanted (24â€) was sold out. I opted for the 18†and am happy I did. The controller provides everything I need/want. I like the true RGB LED’s in addition to the white. I can set a timer, enjoy sunrise/sunset mode as well as moonlight.Yes, the storm setting is fun, as are the other features in the top end model, but the novelty wears off. I need simplicity for daily plant growth and fish watching activity.I will update further when I add plants to indicate if I see growth and positive response from this light.

Not as bright as I thought it would be. A bit dim looking.

Excellent results so far. My plants started pearling more rapidly as soon as it was turned on. Adjustability a great bonus!
