Needed these to tap into a brake light for my spoiler brake light and it works well. One tip is to make sure you press down hard and then open it back up to make sure u actually cut enough insolation but it saved me time from having to solder and has a big variety for different wires!

The splice seems sturdy without exposing bare metal or requiring much in the way of cutting a junction. It seems good enough for an automotive application, although I don't think these meet electrical code or UL for behind drywall.You are going to need wire cutters, wire stripper, and crimpers for most projects. Electrical tape might also be good for any exterior splices, including under the hood, to help keep water out of the crimp connection.

Great kit for us YouTube mechanics. Walmart and the auto parts stores wants a mint for a kit without what I was really looking for. This is the perfect kit for less than half the price with everything you need to wire a car.

1. DO NOT buy these connectors if you don't have the crimpers needed to close the male connectors. Regular pliers will not do. I don't know what kind of crimpers those would be.2. The female part of the connectors required that I cut a slot in the wire insulation to attach. DO NOT trust that the connector will make an adequate cut and create electrical contact. Cut the insulation and pull open a slight opening to the wire.After I attached the female connector as described above and crimped on a male connector of a different brand, everything worked just fine. I like the way everything connects together after overcoming the obstacles. Just seems like it should have been easier and that the product isn't as described.
