The steering becomes light and although I have never experienced a fish tale condition, those rare moments are a white knuckle episode. Once these bad boys were installed and adjusted, they took the sensation completely away. I am now confident about the disastrous condition not happening. I love this. I routinely tow heavy loads in my cargo trailer and at times, especially at highway speeds with strong winds, my trailer starts to sway which requires immediate action to prevent an accident so I ordered this Trailer Sway Control Arm Kit to see if it would actually make a difference. Wow, I am very pleased to report that once installed and adjusted correctly this sway control arm works amazingly well. Even on an interstate going 70mph with 40+ mile per hour winds and more than a 7000 pound loaded trailer I never once experienced any type of trailer sway. When connecting the ball plate to my trailer tongue I chose to use larger bolts that pass completely through the rectangle tubing of the tongue to ensure having the most solid and secure mounting since the included short metal screws seem a bit inadequate in my mechanical engineering opinion. As for the ball plate that attaches to a trailer hitch, I am not a welder so instead I purchased a hitch that already has the sway control arm ball already included. Something to be aware of is that this sway control arm must be removed before backing up your trailer else the arm and/or the ball mounts will likely get damaged.

This is at least as solid as the original. It is very well made and is easy to install and just as easy to adjust.In my first road trip with it installed, I was impressed with how well it worked - after I adjusted it once.This is a quality device that is a necessity for anyone pulling a trailer down the road.

I purchased a pop-up camper a while back and am in the middle of giving it a facelift and making sure everything is safe and secure since it’s a 1999 model. Because my husband and I intend on taking this across the country this summer, I ordered this sway control arm just in case we get into some windy conditions. It’s one of those better safe than sorry situations.As a complete novice, I had to figure out how to use this. The instructions were very well done and told me everything I needed to know. I still need to get the plate welded so I have not taken it for a spin yet but I am impressed with the kit itself which is very well made and has everything you need to get the job done. All of the parts are high quality and coated well for durability.I’m going to take it to have it professionally welded by a local professional and will update on performance once we have taken it out. At the regular price, I feel this is a great buy and with the discount currently running, it’s almost a steal since many competitors are charging at least $20 more for something comparable.

I pull a 23 foot trailer and just recently added a weight distribution hitch. Having sway control should takes the pounding heart and white knuckle driving out of the equation. I've taken a number of trips where you start out with little to no wind, but wind up getting blown around. Those sudden gusts of winds really scare the you know what out you. The sway control kit minimizes those experiences significantly. Good addition for safety.
