A Chinois, also known as a Bouillon Strainer, Jelly Strainer and China Cap, strains and purees fruits, vegetables and berries for soups, sauces, baby food, desserts and stocks. Set includes a stainless-steel chinois, a chromed steel stand and a wooden pestle. Fine mesh sieve. Stabilize over a pot or bowl by resting the chinois in the stand. Stand will accommodate 4 to 10qt. bowls, pots and pans. Hand washing recommended.

I had one about 50 years old. I bought this one to replace it. The stand makes such a difference. I put the whole thing in my big heating pot. It juiced the tomatoes just as fast as my crank kind and all I had to do was remove the strainer and heat the juice. No transfers. So glad I bought it.

I use it for making blackberry jam. It holds back 99% of the seeds.

It does the job...it takes up alot of space in the kitchen, I'm not sure I'd buy it again or recommend it as a kitchen essential

I like it, hate seeds in my blackberry cobbler. Easy to use easy to clean. Going to try to make various types of jelly and don't want any seeds.
