The Norpro 1280 Grapefruit Spoons are the best of all! I bought these along with the other highest-rated (by customers) grapefruit spoons, the ones by WMF Manaos/Bistro, and they are not even close. The latter just don't cut very well, they have tiny serrations and cut as poorly as you would expect upon looking at them.But these Norpro 1280 spoons are incredibly sharp, with larger TEETH. Cutting with both of them and comparing them head-to-head at the same moment, the Norpro cut through the grapefruit flesh AND pulp MUCH better!These Norpro spoons do everything expected of them, and they are much easier and faster vs. the other spoons mentioned above, they just work so much more easily.These Norpro spoons are very attractive, as are the other spoons mentioned above, and they are strong, as are the other spoons, with neither brand bending at all when using them. It is just that these Norpro have much better, bigger teeth and cut so much more easily, without mashing the grapefruit due to lack of sharpness.Highly recommend! I can think of no negatives whatsoever except that a young child or elderly person-- or ANYONE-- could very well cut the sides of their mouth, or tongue, by inserting this spoon quickly and haphazardly. One has to be careful when eating with them!

Arrived today and tried them out. Excellent cleanly detached the pump from the rind and comfortable to use. Won’t cut your mouth but still very effective for their purpose. Strong and won’t bend unless your trying too bend them. Only small drawback is I like slightly longer spoons. Otherwise very satisfied - my search is over.

I bought the both the Norpro 1280 and 1281. Get the 1281 as they are more substantial and look better. I have eaten grapefruit on and off my whole long life, and having spoons that have sharp teeth is important and both the 1280 and 1281 do. One of the disadvantages of Amazon is you end up relying on pictures. I have two old great grapefruit spoons that are better than either of these, but just how many pixs of spoons can you look at before your eyes glaze over? I looked at a lot, tho maybe not all on Amazon, and decided to try these. They are much better than a lot of spoons, including some I have received as part of various sets of flatware, and I would say you will probably be happy with the 1281s.

Love the shape, size, the serrations. If I were critical of anything it would be that the handle is on the thin side and has the look, shape, feel of lower quality silverware. That being said, these spoons are sturdier than they look and have worked great. Best grapefruit spoons I have seen since my mommas grapefruit spoons from the 1960s.

Very nice indeed! Sturdy. Nice design. Good serrated edge. Works! It is hard to wax poetic about grapefruit spoons. Glad Amazon offered them. Hard to locate on a local basis. Not even the super markets sell them. Prefer the grapefruit spoon over the grapefruit knife. The spoon is far more convenient from my perspective and a time saver. A worthwhile investment for the kitchen and for grapefruit eaters.
