Premium Coco Coir for Mushroom Growers
Coco coir is a non-sterile substrate that provides many benefits to the mushroom cultivation process. In addition to moisture retention, the porous structure of coir material enables excellent gas exchange, water supply, and is highly resistant to contaminants. It is primarily used as a casing layer in monotubs or as a substrate additive.
How to Use
Coco coir should only be added to fully-colonized substrate covered in mycelium with pins beginning to form. Only a thin layer of coco coir (1/4 to 1/2 inch) is necessary.
How to Pasteurize
Should you choose to pasteurize, we recommend steam pasteurization or a water bath at 180 degrees for 1-2 hours. Once pasteurized, squeeze out excess water and allow to dry.
Best Practices
We always recommend sterile technique, clean hands, and latex or nitrile gloves to reduce the introduction of contaminants.

Was having issues with green mold contamination when I cased my mushroom substrate. I tried this instead of peat and other coir bricks I had tries and had much better results! Will be my go-to going forward.

The coir was fluffy, finely pulverized, and very clearly without wood pulp filler. It even smelled like coconuts. I'll be buying this again.
