After trying to replace my old Nostalgia air popper (looks exactly like this one but in red color) that died after about 5 years of heavy use, I tried about 3 different poppers before finding THE ONE. I bought another Nostalgia (APH200) exactly the same and thought that would do it. It worked fair but not really as good as I thought it should, so I started a search. The reviews for the Popcorn Maker Hot Air Popcorn Popper (no brand name as far as I could see) were pretty good so I ordered that one, in fact I ordered it twice! The first one outgassed a terrible smell and the popcorn tasted a bit peppery. I had some bronchial irritation after eating it - I tried it three times, same results. I reported it as defective, returned it, and then ordered a new one. This one outgassed the same exact way with the same smell so I did not use it and returned it. Then I ordered the Nostalgia Retro popper - cute little compact thing but it threw kernels out all over the place and was not too friendly!. So that went back and I decided to give this Nostalgia APH200 in aqua color a try. It works great as far as I'm concerned - only has maybe 5 or so kernels that do not pop. Maybe I'm just lucky and got one that works well? So I use the aqua Nostalgia popper and have kept the Nostalgia red one as a backup. Oh, I did try other types of popping - microwave in a paper bag - not my cup of tea. On the stove - good but too much trouble for me and it doesn't always turn out good. I guess I just wanted something easy and good and the air popper works the best. BTY, I use a Tupperware 32 cup extra large bowl to catch the popped corn and I warm the butter+olive oil in a small pan on the stove rather than using the small container on top of the unit. Turn on the air popper for 2 minutes to warm it up, turn unit off, add 1/4 cup kernels, turn unit back on. After popping is done, add your butter mixture and salt. Enjoy.

Super durable we've moved a few times with it now. It works fantastically super easy to clean. Most of the kernels pop all except one or two which is pretty normal. It's super hot so it works pretty fast and most of the popcorn ends up in the bowl. It has been a great switch from the microwave popcorn that's not as good for you.

Well... this is falsely promoted.First off: you have to "heat up" the popper for 3 minutes BEFORE putting in any kernels. Then you turn it off. Only then can you put in 1/4 cup of kernels, which will take several minutes to pop. Then, once you hear only 1 or 2 kernels popping per second, you turn it OFF. THEN before you can make another batch, you have to wait 10 minutes to prevent the unit from overheating. So for one batch: 3 minutes, plus 3 minutes, plus 10 minutes. 16 minutes per batch. Not good, unless you're eating alone. And who eats popcorn alone? (If you do, can't say I fault you... I love popcorn. But generally, I eat popcorn with groups.)Then there is the amount: according to the verbiage, the popper is makes up to 16 cups -- implying to me and probably you that each batch can be up to 16 cups. But: you can only put in 1/4 cup of kernels per batch. I've been making and eating popcorn for a long time. I grew up in the state that grew more popcorn than any other state. There is no popcorn brand out there that can produce 16 cups of popped corn from 1/4 cup of unpopped corn. None. The bag in front of me (Bob's Red Mill) says that 1/4 cup of kernels produces about 4 cups of popped corn. Various internet sources say 1/4 cup will produce 5 cups of popped corn. Neither 4 cups nor 5 cups is anywhere near 16 cups. Here are the first two "features" as claimed in the Amazon ad:QUICK & EASY: With just a push of a button, this unit pops up to 16-cups of healthy, air-popped hot popcorn per batch. Perfect for parties, large group gatherings or a family movie nightHEALTHIER POPCORN: Machine uses hot air instead of oil to quickly pop 16 cups of hot and fresh popcorn for a delicious low-fat & guilt free treat*It may be easy, but it ain't quick. 16 minutes per batch is not quick.*4 or 5 cups of popcorn is not enough for a party or a large group. (Internet says 2 - 4 cups is a serving size.) One batch is not enough for a group of more than 2... and only enough for them if they eat lightly. Not enough, let alone perfect for you group.*Machine uses hot air to pop 16 cups of popcorn. Totally false. The ad uses hot air to dupe people into buying the machine. And pop 4 cups of popcorn every 16 minutes or so.Save your dollars.

This unit works great. The first time I used it before heating it up and the popcorn didn't seem crisp at all, kind of a stale texture. I then read the directions, which I should have done before using it and it was much better! Beautiful light crispiness. My only complaint is that some kernels will come out with the first popcorn kernels, but a friend of mine says all the units she used did the same thing, so I guess it's just the way these work. No big deal because the popcorn is delicious. I use the non-GMO Orville Redenbaukers kernels.

It is very inefficient as to popping all the kernel. It spits out about 1/4 of the kernels each time....far more than the old popper I had. Would not recommend it.

I had one of these many years ago and loved it. Now I got one again. Very easy to use and it really does a great job. The only issue I have is that it does not melt the butter as well as my old pop corn maker did. But if you follow the directions it does do well with popping the corn and does not burn. But have to warn you that the plastic top does get really hot. Would I order it again? Yes I would.

Easy clean up. Easy to use. Not a deal breaker, but not as large a capacity as our last one.

It pops 99% of all the kernels I put in it without burning any.Ran it exactly as instructed with the 3 minute warm up time and it works like a charm.I haven’t had any issues with smells or overheating/smoke.I generally run it for smaller portion of popcorn. Never need a big portion so can’t say if that would make any difference. I usually put in appproximately 1/4 cup.

Super belle machine, d'une bonne grandeur pour faire un bon bol de popcorn. Mieux vaux prendre un plus gros bol au départ car une fois que le popcorn se met à éclater il est presque impossible de changer de bol sans que les grains se retrouve par terre.

I don't know if the one I got is defective or what's going on but I followed instructions and turned it on for 3 minutes to warm it up. Smelled like burning plastic. Added popcorn after that and it's like there isn't enough airflow to get the popcorn moving. Not safe at all or functional. I am hoping I can return as it clearly doesn't work.
