this heat-set insert tool kit is designed to for pine64/ts100/ts101/936 soldering iron to turn them into a portable heat insert pressing tool to expand their functions. It includes 2 heating tip adapters (one for ts100/TS101/pine64 soldering iron, the other for 936/937/900M soldering iron) and M2,M2.5,M3,M4,M5,M6,M8 brass knurled nut embedded insertion tip head to meet your most needs. This tool set is made especially for inserting heat-set inserts of 3D printing parts to enable you assemble and disassemble your projects easily, but won't ruin or contaminate your part rather than a normal soldering iron tip that either stuck or penatrate the insert hole.

Fits a little loose in my pinecil iron, but at the end of the day I just use it a few times here and there and it still functions fine.

Used this to heat set a #1/4x20 threaded heatset inserts into a polymax Petg by using a M6 brass tip.

I was finally able to test this to see how well it would work, and it works great! It fits my TS100 iron perfectly and maintains heat while in use. It does take a bit longer to heat up than the normal tips, but that is to be expected because of the extra mass on the tip. The only down side I can think of for using this is that I will need to make a device to ensure the threaded inserts actually go in straight. There are models to work from that use different types of soldering irons to accomplish the task so hopefully I'll be able to find a remix of one of those, or only have to model the holder for the TS100 to attach to the rest of the device.

Unit works well to melt in threaded inserts into mostly any time of plastic material and fits a large range of thread sizes. Tip snapped into my iron no issues.

Factory pinecil tip works great. I replaced it with the tip assembly from this kit, and the reported temp on the pinecil rocketed to my set temp (300C), then immediately started bouncing all over the place. The tip never got hot.
