They are very stiff which makes them a little difficult to use, especially on small chips. But they work and for $6 how can you complain?

I used these to replace op amps in my amplifier with Sparkos discreet op amps. They worked great and did not bend the the "legs" of the op-amps at all, but it's crucial to pull straight up. No rocking back an forth at all - just straight up.

Great grip, they just need a stabilizing bar in middle as they slide side to side with any pressure.

I use this tool to extract components such as opamps on hifi circuit boards. It fits quite well in snug spaces, and gets a good grip on the chips.NOTE: You do need to take care not to put too much squeeze pressure when pulling up on the chip--just enough to maintain grip.
