As most moms know its recommended to cut grapes before your toddler consumes them. This cutter can easily and quickly cut grapes while minimizing the potential of cutting yourself as the adult. This is also perfect for children who are learning how to become more independent. I love that it comes with a cover so you can keep the blades away when you are storing it. It is also easy to clean. I do recommend cutting grapes right out of the fridge so they don't get squished.

This would be more of a 3.5 star product for me.It works well at cutting harder grapes and other fruits that fit. If you have mushier fruits, it may not be the best help for you. It could be better, but it is not bad for my needs.

Easy to use. I always appreciate a device that simplifies the process of preparing food because when they are this small, it can really be a never ending job. With this tool, I honestly think it is easier to just use a paring knife due to this being more difficult to clean than the knife. Nonetheless, I can tell you that I have rated this as 5 stars because it does function and feel durable and may be a great option for some people wth issues with dexterity and fine motor skills.

I want to love this, but the grape skin gets stuck between the cutter and the side walls housing the cuter. It gets difficult cleaning it unless I fish out the skin with the tip of a knife. Would not buy it again and would rather cut the grapes by hand.

We have a good friend who is a doctor. We were over at their house and we had brought a fruit tray for snacking. I popped a grape in my mouth and saw the horrified look on the families faces. Apparently swallowing a grape whole is incredibly dangerous - as they are just the right size to block the windpipe and because they are softer, they are very hard if not impossible to dislodge. My doctor friend is not one to over hype things but she was super serious about this. Her whole family knows to bite a grape in half, rather than pop it in your mouth whole. So we got this for her as a "gag" gift for Christmas. The ultimate in home safety. And though we were joking - this is a serious issue. With young children you have to cut the grapes in half to avoid serious choking hazards. We tried this out after she opened it and it is sure a lot easier to cut grapes with this than to try to hold them steady while using a knife. This is a must have for any family with small children or the elderly. This way they can enjoy grapes without the risk. I never knew how dangerous grapes were, but this makes them safe.

At first I thought this was clever. But honestly it is faster to cut grapes. This also is somewhat hard to clean by the blade and grape pieces get stuck.

Item: Nuby Grape Cutter ToolPrice: $9.99Anyone who spends time in the kitchen knows ‘prep time’ can be where we spend most of our time working through a recipe. And for me, cutting, dicing and shredding can be a ‘grind’, so to speak. So over the years I’ve brought in just about every ‘semi-automatic’ cutting device available, from blade mounted cutting gadgets to motorized food processors. The Nuby grape cutter, in my opinion, is another gadget of which you’ll find numerous versions on Amazon. And its price, while at the ten dollar price point at the time of this review, isn’t even the most inexpensive in its type. And I found it interesting that most other similar cutters on Amazon focus on cutting grapes and cherry tomatoes. And in this case, cutting in quarters, not halves. And wouldn't it be nice if the blades could be configured to cut both halves and quarters? While both fruit items fit this cutter, you could insert a few other small food items. So my question was, "Is this quicker than my current method of cutting small fruit items into quarters", which is the only option here. Or even easier, halves, which is a more useful cut for my salads and small fruit items I use to decorate a dessert. And my answer is no, it’s not. And I say that for myself, given methods I've used that are faster and frankly more accurate, owing to thin-blade and very sharp knives that I use.The Nuby, like many other similar cutters, is set to cut into quarters, given the fixed criss-crossing blades. And if you’re trying to cut juicy fruits that are also soft, I highly recommend putting them in the freezer for a short time to harden. Don’t let them actually freeze up as it will diminish their flavor a bit. But being colder they’ll be firmer and will stand up to being cut into the small quarters for which this cutter is designed. And know that these cutters have to be loaded with fruit ‘one at a time’, I will say that, for me, it made the overall effort a bit slow and tedious.Holding a grape or cherry tomato, or several of either items, is the challenge. And for small fruit I’ve found alternate ways to quickly ‘half-cut’ and then, if I wanted, ‘quarter-cut’. For the grapes or cherry tomoatoes, and because I make a lot of salads, I use a couple large ‘jar lids’. I can get a goodly number of grapes or tomatoes in-between the lids and run a sharp serrated knife across the grouping. If I then want to cut the halves to quarters, I line them up against my wood chopping block, hold them tight using a long squared off plastic stick, and cut from above, cutting all into quarters. But frankly, for salads, which is where I would cut down these items, I prefer halves. So was I ‘wowed’ by the Nuby Grape cutter? No. Maybe because we no longer have infants to feed, I just felt it was more a gadget than an every day multi-purpose small fruit/food cutter. I can still half and quarter cut by hand faster than loading and then cleaning a device like this. But if for feeding young children, it could be a 4-star item.
