I tried this on my 2013 Sonata and it worked great with my new REDTIGER F7N. The videos on how to install this unit are very useful. There are 2 videos, one refers to older versions and one that refers to newer versions, you have to watch both because there is some information that doesn't get repeated on the second video presuming you've seen the first. I used this for over a week and I found out that this unit kept my camera running non-stop until the battery protection was triggered which I have to say worked every time and my car was able to start even in the coldest weather so you can trust that feature. The problem is that this camera has only 2 wires and I had connected the red wire on a constant 12V which kept it running constantly and I didn't know then that I needed a unit with 3 wires where one could be connected to Ground, 1 to a Constant 12V and the other to a 12V after key/ignition to use the Parking Monitor feature. So I learned that the choices with this unit are to either connected to constant 12V and let it run constantly until 11.9V protection is triggered or connect it to a non-constant 12 volt which will make the camera start automatically on turning the key and stop automatically on removing the key. This unit worked great I just wished it had all 3 wires.

This made adding power for a dash cam pretty simple. It's simple to figure out which of the three fuse types you have and then you don't need the rest of the dongles. The quick connect for the power wire makes life simple. The only things to watch out for are: 1) unlike a typical fuse, the tap will only work one when installed in one direction. You can test for the fuse to figure it out, or trial and error. But don't assume something is broken if it doesn't work the first time - just flip the tap around. 2) the fuse box in my car is tight. So much so that squeezing the tap into the fuse slot was not simple, and required a slight bend of the plastic around the fuse panel to achieve. 3) you need to find a ground. This usually isn't a problem but in may fuse box in the glove compartment, there was no obvious ground and no loose brown wires to tap into. Luckily, one of the screws holding the glove compartment to the car does the job. All in all a great little kit that includes bits to make it work in lots of scenarios.

I tucked the wire behind my dash to the fuse box, and under the a pillar air back cover, no visible wires, no 12v power socket use.

Wanted a hardwire option for my micro USB front/rear Z-Edge T4 dash cam. This did the trick. The components seem a tad on the cheaper quality side (easily broken if not cautious), but for less than $20, I won’t complain much. Its simple design did exactly what I was wanting, and that was to hardwire my dash cam and hide the wires. The trickiest part was finding a fuse that wasn’t constant and one that was ignition only, that way the dash cam would turn on automatically once the engine is started, and turn off once the engine stops. Using a constant fuse will require you to turn the dash cam on/off manually each time you get in/out of your vehicle, as power is constantly being supplied, possibly draining your vehicle’s battery in the process. I don’t like the idea of the “voltage meter†that’s supplied with this kit, which is supposed to stop the flow of electricity to the camera once your vehicle’s battery drops below 11.9V.. My camera has a built-in battery for parking mode, so there is no need to have continuous power supplied, and no worries about my vehicle’s battery getting drained from a potential faulty voltage sensor. After using a voltage tester to determine which fuse was an ignition only fuse, I ended up tapping into the heated steering wheel fuse, which works perfect. Camera turns on when I start the engine, and off when I stop it. No more ugly wires!!Also, I have seen some people complain about their dash cam shutting off and it losing power if you have an “auto stop/start†feature on your engine (like at an intersection). Personally I had no issue after the engine being shutting off for over two minutes in my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. Camera stayed powered the entire time, even after the engine turning over again. Love this kit!!

Product works perfectly. I kept having a problem with my dash cam draining my car battery from being plugged into this cigarette lighter 24/7 so i got this hard wire kit. I don’t have the issue of my car battery dying anymore. If the dashcam does drain too much battery after the car hasn’t been started in days then it shuts itself off, but that’s okay because my dashcam has a recharging feature that allows it to turn on and record a 15-second video when it senses a collision. Would recommend this product.

Well, my Dash Cam cigarette plug didn't work any more. Instead of buying replacement for about same price, I decided to try this fuse tap kit to hard wire the unit. This will free up my SUV cigarette plug for my cell phone charger, which is a plus. After reseaching, I went with this kit because it has everything plus more. The micro to mini is what I needed for my dash cam to work. Also the 4 different fuse tap will allow me to easily move this kit to another vehicle faster if needed. The install was straightforward for me because I do a lot of DIY project. But anyone with basic electrical knowledge should be able to install this plug and play kit. I decided to install on the accessory fuse so that the power is off when vehicle is off. Even though this kit has build in power cut off, my dash cam don't have parking surveillance. Just make sure to put the vehicle original fuse on the bottom of the tap and the supply fuse to top tap where the red power wire that will connect to the supplied 15 feet wire with black box and your good to go. The fuse was kinda hard to push into the tap so be careful not to break it.Overall this kit is a great value for everything that's included. I ended up buying a second kit to use in another car.

Great wiring kit that will fit nearly any vehicle. Makes it very easy to hard wire your USB-powered devices, auch as dash cams, so you don’t have to use up a USB port or cigarette lighter connection.I wanted my dash cam wired so it was always on, but was concerned about battery drain as car batteries need to have enough volts to start a vehicle in our cold winter climate. I ordered this device as it prevents your battery from draining below an acceptable voltage. The quality of this product is excellent and it has plenty of cable length. I especially liked that it was designed to plug into a variety of fuse box types and there is no need for splicing or soldering wires and it simply connects easily to an open or existing fuse port. Plus it has its own fuse and a spot for the original fuse if you end up sharing the fuse port with and existing fuse in your fuse box.I highly recommend this if you have any micro or mini USB powered devices in your vehicle that require a dedicated always-on power source or you simply need a USB power source as your vehicle is older and does not have a USB port or functional open cigarette lighter port.IMPORTANT: Make sure you understand which type of USB power supply you need and understand the difference between a Micro vs.- Mini USB (see attached photo example) and then ensure you are ordering the correct version. You can check the photo (attached) in your order as they usually highlight the cable in the photo so you can see it up close to ensure you have the correct one.

Poor quality mini usb connector. It broke and left the connector still stuck in my dash cam ! Really regret getting this , now I can’t use my dash cam.
