I primarily chose this appliance because of its 1800W capacity and the included temperature probe, which allows for more precise measurements during cooking. What truly stands out is its incredible versatility: I can use it for sous-vide cooking, maintain the perfect temperature for making yogurt, melt sugar candy (320°F) without needing a candy thermometer, and even melt chocolate without a double boiler. With just this one appliance, I’ve been able to eliminate the need for several other kitchen tools. The controls do require a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of them, they’re easy enough to use. While the built-in fan is audible, it’s not overly loud—you can easily hold a conversation or watch TV at normal volume while it’s running.I’m hoping this unit proves to be durable because I plan to use it a lot. For now, it’s proving to be an indispensable tool in my kitchen!

1. Actual 8" induction coil. I verified by opening it up.2. Even temperature. I have cheaper induction cooktops that cycle very slowly. If I set those to a low temperature like 150F, it'll full blast for a couple seconds, then turn off for 10 seconds. Even at 300F, those would cycle 5s on, 10s off. Not good for stir frying, as it can burn stuff during the 5s of full blast. From my testing, this unit did not cycle until the lowest few temperatures (100 degrees), and was much faster at the cycling.3. Top circle is all glass, no plastic to melt.4. The max wattage control is great if you are worried about tripping breakers (shared electrical circuits, old house wiring, etc.).4. Smaller things I liked: temperature probe, 5degree increments, angled front controls, ease of cleaning5. Long term concerns: can't tell how well the internals will last. The front controls are plastic covered buttons, and I've had other appliances or electronics with these style controls, and the plastic will break over time, revealing just the button. Still, I prefer the buttons to a rotating knob, as the potentiometers for those wear down even faster, and are harder to clean. Eventually, upgrading to touch controls might be the way to go for the manufacturer.

This hotplate is really good. This is my first induction stove. It took a few days to get used to using. It's reaction time is great, too good in fact. It changes temp really fast. Because of the nature of the heating element it concentrates the heat. It doesn't radiate heat like flames. That and the temp settings are reflecting the temp of the heating element, It may or may not be an accurate measure of the temp of the pot.It has 3 wattage settings 700, 1500 and 1800. I have found the 1500 wattage setting to be the best option. At that setting it will heat quick with out being to fast. At 1800 it heats so fast it will warp your pans. I have already done so. Warped pans are easy to fix. A few carefully aimed blows of a dead blow hammer straitened it out. That and I've found that setting the temp to 350 is a really good all around starting point for most of my cooking. The only thing I am not happy with, which is probably user error, is it doesn't seem to be very good at simmering. So far it seems to either be boiling or not, nothing in between. 210 is a still surface and 215 is a rolling boil.I'm sold and am happy to use induction for the rest of my life.

Pleasantly surprised by this PIC.Pros: It fits perfectly on our current gas stove top where we have disabled one gas burner. It’s fast, has a lot of settings, great simple cook book, reasonably quiet cooling fan, stable base, and multiple adjustments for speed and wattage, and some pre-programmed cooking sets.Nits: the ceramic surface is a little difficult to keep shinny. There seems to be a slight film residue from each use. A clean cloth with a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol seems to help. Also we really DON’T like the huge LOGO/advertising across the entire cooking surface. It mares that otherwise sleek look of this PIC. There is already a logo on the front, no need to SHOUT it out.Otherwise we would highly recommend this induction cooker.

Works great. Warm up quickly and holds temperature consistently. Had some trouble with making the probe cooking work, but I'm sure that Will be corrected through trial and error.

This induction cooktop provides precise control of temperature. I would highly recommend it. The cook surface does not get hot. Heats water or food or oil up in a matter of seconds. I would highly recommend it.

Not sure if the 8” coil is always working, when boiling water for pasta, it’s only about 6” that are boiling. Anyway, still great, you need to use quality pans to distribute the heat evenly to the edges.

I thought I could use this for a deep fryer control using the temp probe. Boy was I wrong. I should have sent it back but I still have it trying to figure out what I can use it for. The temp probe control I found ONLY CONTROLS TEMP TO 212 Degrees. Completely worthless to me, and why they choose to design it that way is a mystery to me. Had they allowed temp control to 375, it would have been perfect, at least for replacing a deep fryer. The numerous button on it are largely worthless and meant to fill up the front panel. Functionally it heats up pretty fast but practically......... Not so useful except to get another burner when company arrives. And the recipe book is a joke, 3-4 recipes for FONDUE? Does anyone do that anymore since 1975?
