Eliminate the need for a branch vent with the Oatey Sure-Vent Air Admittance Valve. This air admittance valve (AAV) provides the ideal venting solution for island sinks, remote bathroom groups, and remodel jobs by eliminating the need to be connected directly into the stack vent. This AAV keeps the sewer and atmospheric pressures equalized, allowing water to drain freely. Its one-way valve is designed to allow air to enter the plumbing drainage system when negative pressures develop without the use of a vent extended to open air and to prevent sewer gases from escaping into the building. The Oatey Sure-Vent AAV is sensitive to pressure changes to consistently open and close as needed by the plumbing system, closing by gravity and sealing the vent terminal at zero differential pressure (no flow conditions) and under positive internal pressures. This 1.5" x 2" PVC air admittance valve is approved to handle up to 3" vent pipe and has a 20 DFU (Drainage Fixture Unit) capacity. It complies to ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) Standard 1050 and 1051 for use a secondary vent. Ready to install. The reason I have a 4 start is that the install instructions and the item description did not specifically it needed to go on a 2in pipe. I had to research this to ensure I had it right for the installation. So far I drained about 100 gallons through the sink with the disposal working as well as the dish washer. So smells from the septic system and no drain issues. Today is just day one of use so we'll see if I need to do any revisions on the review.

I thought that these Oatey Sure-Vent 1-1/2 in.–2 in. where going to be some cheap knock off consider the Big Box store, rhymes with Moes, cost more than 2x as much. They are not!I've bought 3 they are the same and work great.

I loved the 2-inch or 1 1/2-inch PVC or ABS pipe adaptor fitting. These are very easy to install. Read the directions twice, and pay attention to what you're doing. Dry fit your sanded pipes together before gluing to be sure you're going to fit under the counter properly and be plumb. Take the time to sand the cut pipe ends smooth. Why? Because the slightest burr from a hack saw or saw cut can and will every hair that passes it, inside your drain line. Buy the smallest bottles of purple primer and PVC/Abs glue you can find. I put one under my kitchen sink, and one in the laundry room with a new p trap. The result; the kitchen sink has a tornado now when draining, and the laundry room smells like clean clothes instead of sewer gas. I highly recommend this product.

Unfortunately this item didn't work either I set it up wrong but toilet doesn't flush correctly. But when I remove it. Itdoes I will probably have to put pipe externally.
