I was skeptical this would work as described, but the specs appear to be correct (at least for the USB-C port that I measured).I've been looking for something like this for a while, since my OBD2 port is directly under the MagSafe/Qi2 mount that I use on the left side of my steering wheel. I wasn't aware of this beforehand, but apparently the OBD2 port is powered continuously in my '21 RAV4 while everything else loses power once the vehicle is off. A 1.5 foot USB-C cable is the perfect length to power my mount using this device. The USB ports face up toward the driver when installed on the OBD connector in the RAV4, and there is plenty of clearance for the USB cables. However, you should check the orientation and position of the OBD2 connector in your own vehicle to make sure you can actually insert cables into this device. Overall, I'm very happy with this adapter and plan to use it for powering my Qi2 car charger from now on.

The Onboard Diagnostics (OBD) port in a car goes unused much of the time, so why not put it to use? This device plugs into the OBD port on your car and provides additional USB power ports for your phone, or whatever device you need to charge up. It comes with a USB-A and a USB-C port. I haven't tested the USB-A port, but the USB-C port delivered "super-fast" charging to my phone, like what I get with a high output car charger. Since the OBD port is nearly always located in the foot well on the driver's side, it's a good place to plug in something you always have in your car, and lets you place a phone mount to the left of the steering wheel, freeing up your factory-installed charging port (what we used for a cigarette lighter in less enlightened times) for the passenger. My one gripe about the design of this thing is that the USB ports are on the side. They should have been placed on the top of the device, since in some car designs there may not be room for the USB cable's connector extending out of the side.

Specs on this Little Bugger are IMPRESSIVE!!! I have an Android Auto Wireless Adapter in the center console and have usually kept my phone charging in a cup holder mount in the center console. Getting this little power adapter is getting me to think I should get a windshield suction mount and mount my phone near the left pillar so I am not always having to look down to see my phone. Pulling power from this OBD Adapter, I can route the cable less than 2 feet!!! Doing this would clear out my center console cup holders!!! YAY!!!

I ordered this more just to see if it would work as anything else and I can tell you that it does. I plugged it into the OBD interface on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. I was a bit skeptical about doing so but I plugged my phone into it, and it instantly began charging. They provide two outputs, one a USB-A and one a USB-C and both of these work without any real issues. I say it that way because on our Caravan the angle of the USB-A plug is such that its very close to the plastic of the bottom of the dash, it works but is very close to not working. I also wish that the USB plug would seat in a little bit firmer, it does hold but it seems like it could be better. Other than that, no issues so far but if something does come up, I will make sure to come back and update my review. For now, I have no problem recommending this adapter to anyone looking for an additional power source for their vehicle.

Great product. My son's old pickup has an ODBII port, but the lighter port is broken. This works great for him to still be able to charge his phone.
