How to install batteries into the Obuby walkie talkies?
Step 1: The walkie talkies for kids have a button inside the belt clip, press the button gently.
Step 2: Push the clip upside.
Step 3: Put your finger on the battery cover and slide it down gently.(If you have a rechargeable battery, you can use it as well)
Step 4: According to the instructions on the battery cover, install the batteries with positive and negative electrodes.

The screen displays the channels, CTCSS, the scan function, Voice Activation(VOX), volume, button lock and the battery status.

Love love love these! I got these for my 3 year old son for Christmas to stay in contact with his grandma who happens to live next to us. Grandma and my son are very very happy with these. They are easy to use and the sound quality is GREAT! We use them even at the store now if we get separated or just to say good morning and goodnight or to taunt grandma. Super fun and Functional “toyâ€. I like these specifically because they are fun colors for children but are not “toy†quality which allows them to be useful for communication purposes between myself and my next door mother who does not use her cell phone. Plus the NOSTALGIA!! I love using these so they’ve become more of a present for myself and my mother (grandma). The ONLY drawback is these are battery operated so the battery’s can drain pretty quickly since there is also not a standby mode and you have to actually turn the walkies off to save battery life, rendering them useless IF someone is trying to reach you while they are off... So we have designated times where we keep them on or turn them off. Otherwise though a wonderful and simple product that really brings back the true joy of playtime back when walkietalkies were the high tech of the time and we didn’t sit on social media to have fun!

I have a 2, 4, & 6 year old, so when we were shopping for fun looking, sturdy, and vibrant walkie talkies for our kids, we came across these. Not only were they on Amazon Prime for quick delivery, but the colors is what really sold us! No wonder over 5.5K reviews came in with a rating of 4.5 - 5 stars. Shoot I easily give them 5 stars!The boldness, easy to grip with the rubber finishing and waterproof IPX5 battery compartment, and we love that it has a sturdy clip attachment. Bonuses are the LED flashlight with variable settings and same goes for the ringing feature.It gives a sense of freedom and confidence when they play outdoors where it is easy to keep track of them when they play in the backyard- I communicate with one unit while the others share the 2 outside. They are very sturdy as my 2 year old chucked it quite a distance when he got mad at his brother for taking his toy, it still functions great. My 4 year old purposely ran it over with his bicycle to see what would happen-came out unscathed. Kids will test and try everything we give them and we know if it sustains their rough play-it is a great investment. It has great range, as we took it camping and the bathrooms from the tentsite was a 3-4 minute walk away and little to no phone reception for any cell carrier, but these came in handy when we went to shower or go to the pool and communicate with family who stayed relaxing at the tentsite.I am looking to purchase these as Christmas gifts or birthday presents. They are fun to use- ages 3- 12 ; but I use them-and I am a mom of 4 littles.Go and purchase them now before they sell out!

I must admit I was a bit hesitant buying these after reading the reviews. The negative feedback regarding battery installation and “broke right away†was steering me away but I took a shot. I figured it was a small price to pay in comparison to the possible fun it would bring my kids during the shelter in place orders here in California. My kids are ages 2/5/8 for reference.Immediately when this things arrived my kids were eager to test them out. The testing however had to take a back seat until we bought TWELVE AAA batteries. Yes you read that right. If you didn’t see the detailed info each radio takes 4x AAA batteries. I’m considering the rechargeable battery investment but I will hold off until I can confirm they will last longer than a month. My biggest “concern†being the kids will drop them and render them useless. So far the kids have been climbing the play set outside with these and they’ve been solid. They’ve lasted a few hours of hide and seek, indoor/outdoor play and a few walks. While we haven’t tested these too much to see how far they will truly work when is use, we’ve been able to chat back and forth from here to the community mailbox which is about 4 houses away. Still a solid signal and I cools hear the kids clearly.One call out on this, and any radio for that matter, is the location of the mic. It’s inevitable the kids will cover it with their hands but it’s right in front on the left side so if you have a lefty in the family like I do and holds the radio with their right hand it MIGHT block the microphone. Some quick training and muscle memory broke that quickly.To respond to the complaints that the batteries were a pain to install or snap in place I felt this wasn’t an issue and just needed a minor amount of force to push the batteries in place. Maybe people aren’t installing one side at a time and simply trying to lay the battery flat and push down? Just make sure to set in the side negative side of the battery first (flat side) then push the positive end in with a little force and they’ll snap in snug. I mean...that’s how you normally insert a battery isn’t it?? Just thought I would call that out in response to the negative feedback on this minor “issueâ€.All in all you’ll get what you pay for. These aren’t meant to last forever at this price. If they will last at least thru this current madness it will be totally worth the cost.

Funciona muy bien, se escucha fuerte y claro. Vienen preconfigurados de fábrica, sólo requieren 4 baterÃas AAA cada uno y listo. Mis hijas de 9 y 10 años juegan con ellos, el rango en ciudad es de unos 500m. Cumplen para uso lúdico.

The received package was not properly wrap and the side of the box was cut already when received. In the box, only 2 of the walkie talkies was wrap and another 1 was not. This look like rejected or used item.It was mentioned this was the brand Obuby. However, the product received was not. This feel so cheated!
