My husband was looking for a replacement motor to a spreader we have had forever. This was the perfect fit; a simple alligator clip attachment that he got locally, and she was good to go. Can't beat the price either. I would say, this was one of our easiest repairs to do.

Nice motor. I bought to replace old Moultrie ATV spreader if you are using the Moultrie spinner plate you will have to drill the motor shaft for the cotter pin if not you can purchase a Buyers spinner plate that requires no drilling

melted salt gets into the motor and once that happed the motor fails. Only lasts about one winter season. Every January I am putting a new one on mine. I have packed grease against mine and used salt remover spray and nothing makes them last. Overall the Salt Dog spreader is a poor design with everything falling onto the upward facing motor shaft.
