It will work but on only half if my rods. The receiver is too small for some of my rods.Can I purchase another holder that may have a larger diameter?Looked for a "contact seller" but didn't see how.Seller...if you see this...is there a larger ros receiver????Thanks

I had a problem and looking for a solution other than hiring a tree trimmer. I have one of those trimmers on a long pole with a saw and clipper at the top. You activate / use it by pulling on a rope that creates the sawing effect. Well, it works great... I don't. I found out very quickly I need 3 hands as I couldn't hold the stick straight and operate the rope at the same time. Eureka moment. I was watching a TV show about fishing and this guy had a "thing" around his waist that he put the end of the fishing rod into so that he had were free to reel in the fish. OMG I thought - I can use that for my tree trimmer. Works great!! The end of the pole is stabilized and my hands/arms are free to pull the rope. I will admit it took a little while to get the hang of it ... but then again, I'm 72, female and upper body strength is not the best. I kept at it and it did the job. I think the trees look great ... at least my neighbors haven't said anything. I highly recommend whether you use it for fishing or for cutting trees!!

The rod holder is flared at the end and tapers rapidly. Larger rod handles will NOT fully seat in bottom of holder. My 9ft uglystik bigwater barely goes half way into holder. Dimension given is at the flare not the size all the way down. Works ok for rods with smaller handles but I am disappointed the actual size of the holder is not given.

Do yourself a favor and buy one...or 2...or atleast one for your wife so she will enjoy fishing more! Thats what I did, saves her pelvis area when reeling in the biggest fish shes ever seen! She loves fishing as much as I do so....I GET to go whenever I want! Good quality. Holds up well in saltwater. Fits poles well.

Haven't used it yet just received it yesterday but it will be a great addition to our offshore trips it's actually for my wife these tuna and red snapper beat her down trying to give her an edge..

A cheap way to save your gut while fighting dolphin and other fish. Well worth the money. I didn't have any trouble with any of my rods fitting in the hole but it isn't the largest so if your rods base is bigger than 1.5" I would say this is not for you.
