There is NO WAY to safely get the Toyota/Lexus oil filter housing off without a tool like this. The filter housing welds itself to the engine (like most spin-off canister filters as well) and it takes a LOT to get it loose. Usually positioned in an awkward position to get conventional oil filter wrenches in place (and they don't fit the OEM housing with its two 'ears' that are the parts that lets this tool 'grab' the housing.) If you do oil changes on Toyota and Lexus get this tool. This one is pretty lightweight but worked for me on a neighbor's 4 Runner. There are better brands and likely more durability if you are using it frequently vs my 'twice a year' use. Worked well for me

I purchased this item because it was marked as compatible with my car model. However, when it arrived, I realized it was not the correct size or fit. It’s disappointing since the product page gave the impression it would work for my vehicle. If you’re considering this item, double-check the measurements or compatibility with your specific car before purchasing.

The previous oil change (not DIY) had both the oil pan drain bolt and filter housing very very tight. I should probably have used a socket over the extending hex nut but just us3d 1/2" breaker bar with adapter. I will buy a steel housing wrench alonging 1/2" inch drive for future endeavors even though I torqued to specs this time. I was lucky that local garage was willing to loan one with my vehicle up on ramp and oil drained.
