This is my second unit and I finally figured out how to test it before crawling under my car to install it. Replicating the process found in YouTube videos, I determined that this device has a Normally Open circuit internally. Multimeter results show approximately a 5 ohm resistance, however when applying air to the opening using an inflated balloon, the resistance readings were the same, thus indicating the internal circuit is not closing so that a good reading could be observed. The inflated balloon simulates the would be oil pressure. As indicated, this is my second unit. The first unit was installed in my car using a GlowShift sandwich adapter, and did not give good gauge readings, similar to what other customers have reported.

I installed this where the previous electric sender was in place I insured that the pipe was clear of debris and had adequate electrical ground the connectors on the top are easy I verified continuity and after a couple months I started getting erratic readings from this with different gauges of the same almost specification has the sender because of the wildly fluctuating signals and constant failures I cannot recommend this part

I bought the cheaper Chinese version - registered no pressure on a new engine - VERY disconcerting! I called Progauge and they warranteed it, got the new one: 85psi! Go to the source, people. Buy American.

Doesn’t work with a Sun Pro after market Gauge on a 2007 Ford Mustang. Reads 100 pounds of oil pressure at idle. Drops slightly on acceleration.
