The product is excellent and priced competitively. It has numerous sized rod tips, and was able to choose the one that fitted perfectly and snugly to my broken rod. The glue (mixing two resins) is simple to use but it does take a while to set. I left mine overnight and it's a solid as a rock.

Product is as described I've already saved 3 fishing poles with this kit, so this already paid for its self. Easy to follow directions. I will be purchasing other kits for different types eyelets.

I rolled up my favorite rod in the back window of the truck. I about cried, then pulled over, got on Amazon, and ordered this kit within 5 min of the incident.I've tried other "emergency rod repair" kits before and they used some type of hot glue. Last time it lasted about 2 casts before it came off.This kit is the real deal. I've always been interested in custom rod making, but never really learned the basics. I knew rod thread existed, but didn't know how it was used. This kit changed that.My first repair didn't look the best. I see why a rod turning machine would really help. If you don't turn the rod, the epoxy drips down to one side, and the other side ends up with exposed thread, instead of a nice smooth finish.Even so, the repair has held up over 5 fishing trips, and shows no sign of weakening. And this is my #1 rod, so it's seen hundreds of casts over those trips.I ended up ordering some rods guides as well, and using this kit to attach them. I'm super thrilled to get my old broken rods back in shape. Always feels great to fix something yourself, and have it work lol.There is plenty of epoxy in this kit for many more repairs. Hard to tell how much thread is left, but after 5 repairs, it's still going strong. Love how they even include the shears for cutting thread. Really does have everything you need.

I was so excited to try this product after breaking my ultra-lite rod tip. The smallest tip was just a little to big for my pole. I mixed the resin to adhere the tip and 5 hours later it was still loose with no stickiness at all. Ended up using super glue which worked in 5 minutes. The directions don't really show you how to use the thread. I figured out how to tie the beginning end down and made some twists. Got to the end and no what, no idea how to tie off the tag end. Tried the resin and the whole threaded area came undone. Now I have to start again there's resin everywhere. Long story even longer, I needed up trying to get the thread under itself for the end and it sort of worked. After putting the resin on it finally dried and feels bumpy from how I tied it off. They need to have better instructions and a real glue for tips that are just a bigger than the pole. Would not recommend or buy again. Just buy a tip and super glue.

Worked pretty well and I liked the video on how to use it, that helped. Fixed a small travel rod, seemed pretty sturdy

I would have given it five stars but the kit should include a few eyes for large diameter rods. It worked great for my smaller rods but I could not use the eyes on my surf rod. Or maybe the supplier should provide a saltwater kit with larger diameter eyes. Otherwise it was perfect.

I have to admit that I was a bit dubious about this kit but it's more useful than I had realized. All you need to repair a rod top is a replacement tip, epoxy and perhaps a bit of sandpaper to rough up the end a touch. This kit also includes wrapping thread, thread cutter, tape, brushes and a small mixing cup. Add some replacement line guides and you can actually re-do the guides and tip on an entire rod. How many rods you can do with the supplies in this kit I couldn't tell you, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't knock out two or three entire rods (you adding the line guides, of course).So for simple rod tips, absolutely recommend this kit (assuming the size of tip included meets your needs of course), but even for entire rod line guide replacement as well.
