This is for a NON TILT column. I tried this on my 1977 cj5 and it did not work. I needed one for a tilt column. I left a review for the correct switch. Fyi the quality of this was fine. Just the wrong model

Installed and functions like original. My Jeep needed lots of parts so I was on a tight budget. Good value for my money.

1 star because it did not fit even though description and Amazon said it was direct replacement. The part I need is for my 1983 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler non-tilt steering wheel column.

I bought this May 20, 2013. I installed it on May 24, 2013. It is now August 1, 2013 and the part has failed. The switch is stuck in the "On" position, meaning I could not turn off the ignition on my Jeep. I had to pull the coil wire to shut the engine off this afternoon. Upon dis-assembly of my linkage and steering column, I notice that the switch is stuck and will not move freely. This part should not have failed after two months of use. I only drive this jeep on the weekends so, it's not like it sees a whole lot of heavy use.
