So far, it's exactly as advertised. Bright and attention-getting, but not headache-inducing. It works from a nearby room. The remote does NOT have to be pointed at it. I was worried that you'd have to be in the same room like many infrared TV remotes. That would completely defeat the purpose for me. And I was pleased to find out that is not the case. So this must be an RF remote, not IR, which is what you would want in this case. The lighted sign is just the right size. I haven't tried it with batteries because that also seems to defeat the purpose. You can plug it into an old USB wall wart, which is nice. I have some of those that I don't use for my phone anymore because they're so slow. But they work fine for this! Bonus!

I needed this to let my wife know when I'm on a video call. The remote DOES work through walls. Simple solution and it just works.

Looks good and is very bright. It has thin plastic face and housing, much lighter than it looks. The remote works well (remote was probably repurposed from another product as it has both LED and RF 433.92MHz but device is RF). Eats batteries quickly. There is a USB-C port on the side near the power switch but it doesn't appear to actually power the device, it won't work without batteries and the batteries drain in a few days despite being plugged in.Edit 20240408 - Added a star to review. USB power does work but only with non-fast charging power supply. Swapped out the USB C cable and USB-C fast charger for an old v5/2A and a USB-A/USB-C cable.

Hooked this sign up on my office door for when I have client calls. Works great, but runs through batteries rather quickly. I expect that this simply because I forget to turn the sign off when I'm off calls. After plugging in a USB-C cable to it on a power brick, it's been flawless. Highly recommended.

This sign is great, just what we were looking for, the old fashioned style with modern remote sensibilities. Great for letting people know you are "on a call" or "zooming" so they don't burst into the room and easy to turn on and off with the remove.

The product looks and operates as described. The look is great. However, if you aren’t able to keep the unit plugged into a power source, be prepared to frequently change the batteries. Seems to use power even when it’s not turned on, too.

It's a simple sign but quite effective. We use for our podcast and it looks great on the shelves! We don't normally turn it on so I have no idea how efficient is, but definitely looks good.
