Works pretty well. Doesn't hurt the dog and isn't too loud. Cutting the fine hairs are a bit tricky and require multiple passes.

I've had the same barber for over 50 years now, my wife. (She has, also, served as barber for our dogs as well ... just using separate equipment.) And one of the areas most difficult to trim is the area just above and behind my ears. Our other hair clippers all have vacuum hose attachments - which is great for keeping our hair cutting space clean, but it also makes maneuvering around the ears a bit cumbersome. These little clippers easily get into those spaces for neat trimming and has a light that shines directly into the path ahead of these clippers makes seeing what is being done much easier.Of course, these do not have a vacuum hose attachment, but these areas were mostly done with scissors previously which didn't have a vacuum attachment either ... so in either case we just position an open vacuum hose directly below the ear to suck in all the trimmings as they fall down.The included charging cable has a unique connector on the device end, but requires a standard USB type A connector jack for (the not included) charger be connected on the other end. But most of us have one of those somewhere around our house from some other device.One great feature of these rechargeable battery powered clippers is their quietness of operation. I appreciate it when they are used on me, and I am sure that pets would be less frightened as well. So whether for man or beast, these are a great choice for small trimmers.

4 stars because it isn't the easiest to get through my golden retriever's grinch paws, but it still makes the job a lot easier. The noise level is great as it doesn't bother my dog. I think the trimmer quality could be better but for someone who is scared as heck to hurt their dog, I'd rather be on the safe side.
