Wonderful idea. It worked for two gigs. Then it became increasingly difficult to tighten. The nuts on the knobs aren't centered properly so they wobble when I tighten it. And the threads showed signs of damage from the start. I don't know if it will survive another gig.Unfortunate. I expect better from this brand.

This tray is a very clever design and, as advertised, can hold extra sticks, mallets, brushes and etc. I like to have other things close at hand too, like maracas and sleigh bells. The large padded tray can accommodate a lot of bulky percussion gadgets and for me it's just the right size. The US standard 5/8"-27 mic stand fitting welded to the bottom is a fantastic idea too, and really the most practical way to support this thing. I appreciate the strong steel construction, but maybe it should be made of aluminum or some other lighter weight material. At close to 9 pounds, it's too heavy to clamp on to my lightweight Tama "Classic" cymbal stands. I carry all lightweight stuff these days, as most of us "over 50" guys do. Notice how popular the Yamaha "Uptown" hardware set is now? There is no way those aluminum cymbal stands could support this tray, unfortunately. I did not try it, but I think the clamp on the tray would crush the aluminum tubing of an "Uptown" hardware set, and would most likely cause it to tip over. The only practical way to support this tray is by using a dedicated heavy-based mic stand, like an Atlas MS-10 or similar. I love this tray, but I must return it. It's just too heavy and I don't want to carry yet another microphone stand.
