The Onyx Universal paddle vest is constructed with a “Flex-Cut” design using perforated and progressively tapered foam to reduce front thickness and provide a contoured, low profile fit. The open-sides and lower back mesh design keeps you cool when paddling. High Back Foam
The highback foam accommodates most high back kayak seats and sit-on-top kayak seats. The mesh lower back allow more breathability and comfort.
Gear Storage
The large, expandable front stuff pocket allows for safe storage for all types of items.
Heavy Duty Zipper
Heavy duty front zipper helps prevent vest ride-up. Large armholes provide freedom of movement for all paddling activities.
USCG Approval
The Onyx Universal Paddle Life Jacket is U.S. Coast Guard approved. To meet U.S. Coast Guard requirements, and to be legal on the water, a recreational vessel or water craft must have a U.S. Coast Guard (USCG Approval number 160.064/4827/0, 2017) approved life jacket for each person on board. Federal law requires that when a vessel is underway, children under 13 years of age much wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved lifejacket. However, state laws may vary. We bought these life vests to go with our new kayaks and were very satisfied with the fit, maneuverability while in the boat (range of motion), and price. We have had these vests for almost two years now and they have held up to being out on the water, in the water, in the sun and in the garage and still look almost new. They function great and can keep us afloat if we happen to go into the water. I would recommend these to anyone who is getting into canoeing or kayaking; I would not recommend them to someone who is paddleboarding.

The only thing that would make this pfd better is one more pocket in the front. With three pieces, it is very comfortable for paddling, plenty of room for your arms to move. The rear foam part is high , with a mesh bottom so it won't get stuck between you and your seat. The front pocket fit my phone/camera perfectly. I have had problems with pfds in the past getting in my way. This isn't that. Highly recommend!

I am thicker than a snicker as a size 24 with a 46G chest, so finding PFDs has been very challenging for me. A kayaking group recommended the Onyx oversized PFD. Let me tell you, I ALWAYS have to extend everything to the maxed out looseness possible but not with this! I loosened it up all the way and had to tighten it quite a bit, which was an ego boost for me since that never happens.It’s comfortable, cute, and allows the girls to move out to the side without uncomfortably compressing them. I can actually move around in it and it’s very light weight.I will need to make some adjustments once I’m actually in my kayak but I’m so excited to find something that fits my body the way it should at this price.

I think this is a fine product. Well made and well priced. Unfortunately it did not fit me . My body shape was the issue, not the product. I was able to return the life vest with a full refund. I'm still trying to find a life jacket that works for me. Gotta get one as I bought a really nice kayak on Amazon at a great price. I'll keep looking and trying on life jackets. There has to be one out there for a woman shaped more like a beach ball than an hour glass.

This life jacket was purchased as a gift. I was amazed at how light weight it is and it is a nice simple yet effective design, lots of adjustment for the ideal fit. The fabric is decent and the color is very nice. Shipping was astounding. It was suppose to be here for Dec 16 and arrived by the 12th. Very happy with this purchase and company. I will be buying another in the New Year.
