Stainless steel teeth grip the pipe tightly and a special O-ring creates a watertight seal while still allowing for rotation of the fitting after insertion A built-in removal collar allows for easy reconfiguration and reuse of the fittings, including end-of-season disassembly for compact winter storage. The Drip-Lock manifold is an especially convenient way to connect 1/2-inch distribution tubing to 1/4-inch distribution tubing which can then go to each individual plant. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.

I use Orbit drip-lock connectors for all my 1/2" drip lines now. They are easy to install, and easy to remove. I have not had any fail even in direct sun and in temps above 110 degrees. It's also handy that the drip line doesn't have to be inserted as far as in older slip-on connectors. This makes it easier to do a repair in a small hole in the ground when a line gets damaged - less of the line needs to be dug up.

I used the Orbit brand tubing with this, just made sure to clean up the cut end (I used a little coping saw but you can use almost anything. Make sure you cut it fairly straight and just push these on with a little force and it shouldn't leak. The tubing can kink when bent in anything tighter than a 1 foot radius turn, so a couple of these can really clean up the look. Just be aware, this is irrigation tubing that attempts to avoid using things that will degrade over time outdoors, so naturally there might be very minor leaks. That being said, I used two of these a couple feet from each other and it worked flawlessly and there was no pressure change at the end with both added, plus it looks much cleaner.

First time using this product. What could be easier. No problems after a summers use. Would suggest to keep all parts of the same brand so size and fit is not a problem. High pressure might be a problem but at 25 psi no worries.

I don't have a lot of hand strength but was able to quite easily with no leaks. My drip lines are Orbit 1/2".

Although some reviews claim that these work with all Orbit 1/2" lines, these are actually slightly larger than the Orbit 1/2" Blu Lock pipe and will not securely seal. You must go to other sources like Sprinkler Warehouse to find Blu Lock 1/2" elbows.

I bought this hoping it would fit my orbit blue pipe that's 1/2, this is a bit larger.
