I'm a little bit of a Thomas purists when it comes to my train sets, although I don't know why. Almost all of my tracks are Thomas except a few Brio buildings I really like.That said, I think these connectors are awesome. They work well. Fit with Thomas (and I presume other standard) wooden train sets quite nicely. The quality seems quite all right. Maybe not up to Thomas standards, but not problematic or anything.But, the biggest thing of all is you get a bunch of these crucial pieces for a reasonable price. It seems like the male-male or female-female connector problem comes up all the time when designing home tracks and the Thomas tracks make you spend a fortune to get a small number of these.I like not spending a fortune and getting a bunch of what I need. It definitely overrides my Thomas purist standards. :)Anyway, the bottom line is these are important pieces for wooden tracks, at a good price, and they work well. What more could I want?

My grandson loves Thomas and whenever we go to the local bookstore, he heads straight for the Thomas table to play even though he has his own train table at home. His favorite thing to play with at the bookstore was the Tidmouth Sheds, something he didn't have at home. I ordered one the Sheds for his birthday and fortunately, one of the reviewers mentioned that it was essential to have extra connectors and gave a link to the Orbrium connectors. I am so glad they did! There is nothing worse than giving a gift that cannot be used straight out of the box, especially with where a 4-year-old is concerned. These connectors work perfectly with all the other train pieces he owns--some are Thomas, some came with the generic train table, but they all connect beautifully. One reviewer said some of the pieces were defective but I haven't found that yet. However, since these are so useful, I did go ahead and order the 2-pack since it was just a little bit more expensive than the single pack of 8. When you're trying new configurations with the tracks, it's always helpful to have extra connectors. These were a great purchase and an absolute necessity if you splurge for the Tidmouth Sheds.

We bought these along with the bulk 100 piece wooden track set. These adapters are pretty necessary and the name brands may give you one or two in their packs, but then you have to buy a whole other pack of track to get more or pay a bunch of money for just a couple. This was a great buy. Great addition to train set. My son has been a HUGE fan of Thomas the Tank Engine for years. He has built up a large collection of track. However, he often needs to join unmatched pieces of track i.e. male-to-male or female-to-female. That's where these pieces come in - and they do the job perfectly. The track is nicely finished (no splinters in little hands) and perfect for what it does. Would recommend to buy it again. The set gives me all the connectors. For some reason the one solid ends are used more than the ones with holes. These track pieces have made it possible to do lots of different layouts, especially for little guys who want to play on their own but would otherwise have trouble getting the track all going in the same direction to hook together.

THIS IS A MUST HAVE! The more elaborate your track lay-out, the more likely it is that you are going to find yourself faced with the necessity of connecting either two male ends together or two female ends together - a problem which not even SCOTUS can resolve, at least when we're talking about toy train tracks... Unless you have access to these "double ended" pieces, the end result is tears and frustration (your choice whether the kid is crying and you are frustrated or vice-versa). Save yourself the grief and buy a couple of these sets to supplement your supply of track (and they are so artfully designed that you can always use them simply to extend your trackway, even if you don't need to overcome the mismatched end issue). These pieces are made to the same high quality standard as the Obrium trackway (also reviewed), which is to say that the pieces are well formed and well fitted, they are sanded smooth, and are nicely and attractively coated with some clear finish, making it likely that they will outlast your child's interest in toy train tracks (if not your own interest in them - c'mon, admit it, you play with this stuff too). The multiple piece track sets which Obrium sells do NOT contain any of these specialty connectors, so just make a habit of adding at least one of these sets to any other track purchases. And, just like Obrium's regular track pieces, these are fully compatible with the "Thomas" and "Chuggington" (and similar) systems.

You know that situation, come to the end of that work of art that has taken at least 15 whole minutes to build. Your child is anxious to start running Thomas around on the tracks and you place the last piece only to realize your conundrum, female to female, it just won't work. Despite your best efforts to approximate the two edges, thomas or one of the cars he's pulling is going to take a dive. Sometimes its funny to the kids, but if its anywhere near bedtime it might be the end of the world.I would highly recommend this for any of you dads who love feeling like your kids' hero. Reasonably priced, well made. Work great with our Melissa and Doug tracks and some other cheap set that we have as well.

I bought these for my Grandson. We have wooden Brio Train Track at our house, that he plays with all the time. He kept running into the problem of the track coming together with either 2 make ends or 2 female ends, so this was the perfect solution. He was elated that this makes it so he doesn’t have to tape the ends together. It came with both male and female track solutions. It was great. The track is a tiny bit smaller than the Brio track, but I am thinking they did that so it can accommodate several different brands of track. It was perfect for what he needed. Very good quality and we would definitely purchase this again. Thank you.
