This thing is good starter camera if you don't plan to use a lot of action shots. Battery life is pretty short, the sound is really bad, and visual quality is under par. I took it to the lake with my girlfriend and tried going underwater with it. There is a terrible sound that it makes when you go from above to below water. I almost thought I broke my speakers. It was real quiet ...then BOOM! Then back to quiet again.I paid 85 bucks for it, which I can see as fair, but was still a little disappointed with the features.

Pros: If you're just looking for something for the kids I guess it's ok. This is a camera you'd give your kids and say have fun, it is a poor quality camera but it works.Cons: I paid a little under a $100. and feel it's worth less.Seller: Was quick on delivery.

I am really pleased with this video camera. I am a pilot so I placed the camera on the the wing strut and it took some spectacular footage. It is easy to use, with many cool features. If you are an outdoors person looking for a good video camera at a fair price this is the one.

A very nice concept for making special videos. However, just what I should have expected from China, the land of the "JUNKS"! There is a reason for that name... There is a critical plastic part, the MOUNT LOCK AND TRIPOD MOUNT. It interfaces between the bottom of the camera and all of the mounting devices or a camera tripod, pretty much as the name indicates. It broke on the first effort to gently attach a suction mount - camera-tripod type screw attachment base to it. Extremely fragile - very poor design.I called Oregon Scientific. NO SUPPORT OFFERED. They suggested ordering a new mounting kit, $9.95 + $12.00 shipping ($21.95) to get a small plastic part. They would not replace it or sell me a new part. The inherent design is outrageous and weak. They expect their camera base attachment to hold up when mounted on the hood of a car or front of a motorcycle? NO WAY!!! Bye-Bye camera........CAMERA: reasonably usefull video for VGA (WHICH IS POOR BY ITS VERY NATURE)CONTROLS: extremely difficult to depress (need to use a tool or probe)DISPLAY: poor out in daylight, typical of small LCDs, OK for aiming thoughBATTERY AND CHIP CHANGING: annoyingingly difficult.If I hadn't already thrown away the packaging, I would return it. Will sell for half price.

I bought this to replace my ATC 2K that wore out after 4 years of use (rubber deterioration and some mechanism breakage).This model is obviously an improvement based on lessons learned from the ATC 2K.The menu options on the 5 are easier to manipulate because of the video screen. There are fewer video format options one the 5, but I am fine with a binary 'big' or 'small' choice. The battery hatch securing on the 2 eventually broke. The battery hatch on the 5 looks very robust but at the price of being harder to manipulate (requires the use of a coin to turn the securing screw).The camera 'on/off' button, in fact, all the buttons on the 5 inspire more confidence as to their robustness. On the 2, one of the 3 buttons (the menu) button was beginning to fail intermittently. I'm hoping that the 5 gives longer service than the 2 did.I would have sprung for the Oregon Scientific ATC 9K HD model but a 1.5-2 hour battery life using non-standard batteries was unacceptable.. with the 2/5 and a pack of AA rechargeables I could record an entire day's motorcycle ride of 8-10 hours or so with minimal investment.

バイクに取り付けるカメラを探していましたが本格的な高価なものまで必要はなくちょっとした走行映像を撮りたいということで比較的安価でネット上にアップされた動画でも問題なさそうだったこちらの商品を購入。並行輸入品なので説明書は英語のみです。ハンドルグリップを使用して実際走ってみましたがなかなか良さそうです。風の音が気になるかと思いましたがそれほどでもなくバイクの音はしっかり入っています。少し日が傾きかけて薄暗くなると動画のほうはかなり暗く映っていました。操作は説明書がなくとも少しいじっていれば分かると思います。静止画も撮れますがそちらはあまり期待できません。あくまでアクティブカメラということで考えた方がいいでしょう。しかし値段を考えるといい代物だとは思います。

This is an OK type of camera although I would not term it as ACTION.For anything up to normal push bike speeds it is good but stick it on to a motorbike/car or where the action is rapid then the picture becomes very wavy as it struggles to keep up.Also not really that light if you want it as a head cam.The colour moniort is good, the buttons are fidly. The record light is in the front near the lens so you get a mug shot of yoruself everytime you check to see if it is recording.All in all it is ok but not worth the money...you are better off adding another £100 and getting a proper action bullit cam with higher frame rate and better picture quality.But if you just want to do little movies for youtube on nothing faster than 10 MPH then this will do you.

Fangen wir mit den positiven Dingen an:- Die Idee einer kompakten Action Kamera ist genial. Hier fehlt noch Konkurrenz auf dem Markt !!!- Sie soll stoß- und wasserdicht sein.- Sie hat einen Monitor und eine Fernbedierung !!! (habe ich allerdings nicht getestet)Nun zu den Nachteilen:Die Kamera ist meines Erachtens nach ausschließlich für den anspruchslosen Hobbybereich geeignet, denn folgende Dinge werden jeden ambitionierten Filmer stören:- keine PAL Auflösung (640x480 Pixel)- ausschließlich 4:3 Format. 16:9 nur über Skalierung möglich- ein ziemlich schlechter Chip mit unnatürlichen Farben und schlechtem Kontrastverhältnis- schlechter Ton (aufgrund der Wasserdichtigkeit aber OK)- Anzahl der Bilder pro Sekunde unklar. Der Hersteller verspricht 30fps, allerdings scheint es so, daß die irgendwie intern auf 25fps heruntergerechet werden. Ca. alle 7 Bilder wird eines ausgelassen sodaß wohl aus den ursprünglichen 30fps dann 25fps entstehen. Durch das Weglassen der Bilder entsteht ein nerviges Rucklen im Video, daß für mich nicht akzeptabel ist.- Die automatische Blende der Kamera arbeitet nur in groben Stufen und bleibt teilweise nicht auf einer festen Einstellung. Hierdruch flackert das Bild hell-dunkel.Ich habe die Kamera zurückgegeben, da das Ruckeln des Videos nicht akzeptabel ist und der Kontrast sowie die Blende ungenügend sind. Ich halte die Kamera nur ausreichend für die Erstellung von Internet-Videos, aber nicht für die Darstellung am heimischen TV.

メモリーカードが４GBまで対応しており、最大で３時間までは連続で撮影できるので、使い勝手はいいですね。電池のもちも良く、単三２本使用しますが、エネループで２時間以上はもちますね。長距離の撮影でも、良いと思います。また、カラー液晶付なので、現在の撮影状況や、その場で再生して確認できるのがいいですね。アクティブカメラというだけあって、バイクの激しい振動でも画面のブレはそこまでなく（再生すると多少波打つ感じになる）見易いです。値段もここまでの機能がついている事を考えると非常にお値打ち感があると思います。ただ、ちょっと残念に思うのが、一つのデータで連続録画ができるのが９０分までのようで、９０分経つと自動的に停止し、次の録画が始まるまで１分前後のロスがある点ですね。また、これは意見が分かれると思いますが、操作ボタンがいちいち重いのでちゃんと押せているのか分からない事が多々あります。録音については少々小さめになっていますが、元々バイクはエンジン音がやかましいのでこれは考え方によってはいいのかも知れません。ちなみにズーム機能はない上、解像度は決して高くないので（走行動画には十分ですが）、一般的な撮影には不向きと思われます。あくまで、アクティブ用のカメラと考えた方がいいと思います。結論としては一般的なカメラとしての価値はほとんどないが、走行動画等、動きの激しいものを録画したい方にはお勧めできます。
