I used this item for an event recently to distribute various images to various screens. It worked a charm. A few notes:Even if you switch between two active sources, there will be a blue screen in the process of switching. In a dark room with a big screen, this will be almost a blinding light for an audience if switching from a dark source.I did not try the RS232 switching feature. I did not try the remote. However, I ordered this unit for the RS232 switching feature. Perhaps I can update this review after I try both the remote and serial control.The unit looks and feels solid and I enjoyed using it. The metal case is great. I'm looking forward to implementing this unit into a bigger project once I get talking to it with the serial port.** EDIT 1: DEC 15 2024 ** I just had the same event, new year, and the matrix worked great again. I have the same feedback as I have not tried to operate RS-232 just yet.I would, however, like to offer a constructive criticism to the product design. It would be great to have a screen printed I/O listing on top of the unit at the back; with this information listed under the inputs and outputs on the back, there isn't a good way to see it when trying from the front or above the unit to plug things in. I took some board strip tape and manually labeled it on top, but it would be a great addition to the enclosure design.

LATER:surprise, OREI offered a refund with no strings attached ("you are not expected to change your review due to this outreach or any potential resolution."). I did not even have to request a refund, they offered it in response to my negative review. Since they strongly support their products, I changed the rating from 1 star to 4 stars. original review: The splitter worked well for 4 months, then weakened, so that it couldn't even drive two HDMI outputs.The power supply is still connected, and the red power LED is on, so the internal circuitry has partially failed.For this device the 1 year warranty is useless, because the customer has to spend time to convince OREI that the device has indeed failed, and then pay shipping & handling to return the failed device, & again pay s&h to get the replacement device mailed to the customer; which exceeds the cost of buying a new splitter from someone else.

Works great for short money. I initially thought it was defective but it turned out that it was one of the HDMI cables, an error that I did not know could occur. Powers 4 TVS, all with great pictures.

This thing is fantastic. I've tried a lot of HDMI splitters from Amazon, and OREI is the brand that consistently works. Everything else has been hit or miss.Specifically, I've had a lot of trouble splitting the HDMI output of our ATEM Mini Pro. Not sure why, but no splitter was reliably doing it well. The signal would flicker or not work at all on certain outputs. Then I plugged this splitter in, and everything worked perfectly right away.Purely looking at the product, it's a great splitter. For the price, it's mind blowing. Highly recommend.

I was using the OREI 2x1 multiviewer switch (great product btw) but realized that I rarely used the multiview feature but loved the switch and needed more inputs. I got this one and it has been fantastic. Very nice quality device and I love the extended video explaining it all. I use a large 4k tv as my laptop monitor and this works great for that. I have multiple computers hooked up to this switch. I ended up adding 2 more displays on the side and love the flexibility of changing around which monitor displays which input. The only problem that I noticed is that windows limits my resolution when I duplicate the switcher display with the on-laptop display. Extending the display in windows instead works fine though (all resolutions available). Now I am starting to think I need even more inputs and more displays, lol.
