These things work great. I have owned a bunch of tip downs over the years and this one is very robust and simple to operate. They work wonderful for set lines when fishing from crappies and walleyes. The blue ones will lay flat in a 5gal when folded. Will be adding more to the fleet soon.

It does work,balancing a ice jig rod/reel combo to catch crappie, and is sensitive enough to see your minnow move.Only gripe, the rubber clamp that holds the rod is not made from cold weather formula rubber. Worked great in my house getting it balanced. When on the ice, in 20 deg temps the rubber clamp lost its tension and would not hold the rod. I did make it work by holding it tight with a zip tie. But i see that rubber clamp cracking and failing rather fast. The frame is good and it does work.

Perfect for quick set up on ice. Folds up and stores nicely. Also, a lot easier to manage in cold weather when the hole freezes- a simple scoop and you are good to go - if I try that with the jawjackers they trip everytime.

I used these all winter and they work great. I would recommend getting the red ones simply because they are a little larger and can fit rods with larger reels on them. Overall thought I am very happy with them.

After watching the video I was intrigued. This product allows for the most subtle bite to be easily detected. It proved its worth the first day out with some very hesitant lakers. I plan to add a second before next season. A bit on the pricey side but its built like a brick house so I get it.
