This thumb rest cushions not only my thumb but opens my hand up about 1/ quarter to a half an inch thus relieving tension.

After not having played in years, I got this as a new thumbrest. Fits just fine on my old wooden Yamaha YCL-72 custom. Comfortable and doesn't slip.

It didn't exactly fit my current thumb rest. I had to cut a little bit off the top to accommodate. It's a tad bulky but helps an arthritic thumb that is tried from holding up woodwinds.
