I purchased this in conjunction with a popular R12 refill / gauge and puncture type can fitting setup to use with a self sealing can of R134a to refill a fridge that was low on charge. I also purchased one of those blue screw on adapters, thinking that if that one worked, I would return this one unused. Well, come to find out, blue screw on didnt work, and everyone is complaining that the sealing washer in it is too thick, and some even cut the washer by 1/2 thickness or more before it worked. I returned the blue piece of non-working plastic, and attached this valve to the hose fitting for the can, screwed the can onto this one, and lo and behold it worked fine! You do have to figure out what depth to turn the plunger down to though ,too far and it restricts freon, and too little and it doesn't open the seal on the can, but it's a much more confidence inspiring device than the plastic adapter, and works perfectly, IMO.

It works, but be careful not to turn tap all the way in. If you do, you will Destroy the self seal valve on the refrigerant gas can and waste what ever is left in it. This is also against the law. I turn the tap until a feel a light resistance, then fine tune the opening of the can's gas valve. you can verify this by the can getting cold and the pressure rise in the AC system.

only used once so far, it worked, my old one started to not let the gas out consistently, this solved my problem, I hope it last longer then the one it replaced which I bought at autozone many years ago but only used about 10 times

Good overall product finish, the tool looks great, functions as it should. just remember R1234YF cans are left-hand thread.

Got this to add to my r-134a manifold set to charge car ac. Instead of using the separate hose and gauge. Upon filling a system that takes 36 oz (3 cans) with this, the first can took more than 10 minutes to supply enough pressure to engage the compressor then stopped. It is low quality garbage. When I then opened the valve fully to remove it from the self sealing can, it had punctured all the way through the self sealing Schrader valve and the can of Freon emptied on my hand, burning me. It destroyed the self sealing top on the can just by screwing it on and opening the valve. Stay far away. I should take these folks to court.
