We own the Poco LT and have put a few hours on it over the past 2 years so we were excited to try the lighter version. It feels lighter than the LT even though the only big difference is the lack of the sun shade. They might have changed the ergonomics as well because the now heavier baby somehow feels lighter to carry around. We used it on our cross country road trip earlier this year through multiple national parks trails and it performed as expected, it was comfortable to wear and baby was comfortable for even multiple hours at a time. One thing to be careful with is overheating, especially if using the black version in the summer. We had a shade from our LT that works on this one as well but the dark color gets hot fast in the sun.

This is the perfect way to get baby into the outdoors and free yourself from the stroller, especially on trips without well-paved walkways. The carrier is light, well-designed, and well-made. It is sturdy, comfortable for baby to ride in, and easy to get baby in and out. We even take the baby to the park in this. I can carry baby on my back which is unique from other baby carriers that keep baby in the front. This carrier distributes the weight of everything across my body comfortably and securely. And, with baby on my back, I am freed up to play with my other children when we are out.The design is very thoughtful and something I use now more than I thought I would is the large bottom pocket. It is spacious enough to hold a lot of baby essentials and even stuff for my older kids. I don't have to carry an additional diaper bag when using this carrier. As other reviewers mentioned, this carrier does not come with a sunshade. And if you want one, you have to buy it separately. This is odd given a sunshade is a necessary item for taking a baby outdoors and an accessory I would expect to have been included at this price point. Thus while a fantastic carrier, I'm giving it 4 stars.

I really wanted to like this baby carrier, but it had a few issues that made it a miss for me. The metal flex compartment for seating my child was confusing to open at first I thought I was going to break it until I realized the rear seat clip needed to be unclipped, which wasn’t clear in the instructions at all. Once I figured it out, I noticed that while the design seemed sturdy, the leg space for my son felt too restricted. Comfort in the crotch area and enough legroom are really important to me, especially since kids can be in carriers for extended periods, and this one just didn’t meet those needs. I’ve tried several carriers, and unfortunately, this one wasn’t the best fit for us.

I recently purchased the Osprey Poco SLT Lightweight Child Carrier Backpack, and overall, I’m really pleased with its performance. It’s a fantastic option for parents who love the outdoors.Comfortable to Wear: The backpack is well-designed with excellent padding and support. Even when carrying my child for extended periods, I felt comfortable and didn’t experience much strain on my back.Easy to Adjust: The adjustable harness and hip belt allow for a custom fit, making it easy to switch between parents. It’s also relatively lightweight, which is a bonus for long hikes.Ample Storage: I appreciate the storage pockets, which provide plenty of room for essentials like snacks, water, and toys. It’s great for keeping everything organized while on the go.Cons:Overall, the Osprey Poco SLT Lightweight Child Carrier Backpack is a great choice for active families. It’s comfortable, functional, and makes outdoor adventures with my child much easier. Just be prepared for the price!

As a new mom, I was nervous about finding the right child carrier for our family hikes, but the Osprey Poco SLT Lightweight Child Carrier Backpack has been a game-changer! The lightweight frame is not only durable but folds up easily, which makes packing it in the car a breeze. When we're out on the trail, the adjustable fit allows both me and my partner to switch seamlessly, fitting comfortably no matter who wears it. The hip belt and sternum strap distribute the weight evenly, making long hikes feel much less strenuous. Our baby seems to love riding in it—he’s all smiles the moment we pop him in!One of my favorite features is the lower storage compartment, which holds all our hiking essentials—diapers, snacks, and even a small blanket—with room to spare. The only downside is the missing sunshade, which feels like an important accessory for protecting the little one on sunny days. I ended up buying it separately from Osprey, but it would have been nice to have it included, especially at this price. Despite that small inconvenience, this carrier is worth every penny. It keeps our baby comfortable and secure, and I can still enjoy hiking without feeling overloaded or strained. For any new moms looking to hit the trails with their little one, this backpack is a lifesaver—4.5 stars from us!

I've been a big fan of Osprey packs for almost 25 years. They design packs that are a good deal lighter and more comfortable than most on the market and they have a very high quality construction that lasts a long time despite the lighter weight. When I saw they were making a new child carrier backpack I knew I had to try it. I'm not disappointed in the pack itself. It is the same lightweight and high quality I expect from Osprey. The padded child seat looks very comfortable and it's comfortable while wearing. There's a nice size compartment under the child seat to pack other things like diapers, snacks, etc. The one thing that keeps this pack from being perfect is the lack of an included sun shade which is pretty much mandatory for a child carrier. There's one pictured but it is not included. It doesn’t seem to be on Amazon yet and I wasn't able to find a third party website to purchase it very easily but it is available on the Osprey website. It's called the Poco LT Sunshade. Overall this is a great child carrier if you can track down the sunshade.

Well, this was a big pile of *beep*.After 2 uses, the buckle that holds the carrier open broke down totally.Osprey repair/exchange is a joke. Don't bother with them, you'll have to pay for delivery costsAmazon will not change the item to a new one, only refund the money. The thing is, this was 164 euros before we bought it and now is over 180 euros. What a rip-off!!!

It’s weird that the additional sun shade cannot fit in the bag when not in use. It’s such a design flaw I have to give it one star review.
