This is a perfect submarine toy that's durable for play yet detailed for display. My son loves it and plays with it while displayed. It has many electronics buttons that can be pushed and used to create different functional sounds. It's pricey but very functional. Recommended as a gift for kids, enthusiasts and for collectors.

Let me start by saying my 9 year old son was super excited with this when he opened it. He played with it for about 20 minutes then came to me with some questions. He asked what the sounds were, why does a submarine have missiles, and what to the markings mean? The sounds don't make any sense for a submarine. I would have expected dive alarm, pinging, or verbal commands. The missile is from a jet fighter and has no sense being included on a sub. The markings are mostly nonsensical and are just for show as far as i can determine. The toy itself lets a child use their imagination and works ok for that. The questions poised by my child could have been avoided with 2 minutes of googling. Overall not great, but not horrible either. Is it worth your money? That's for you to decide.

I'm using the fun kids toy submarine as a gift to my five year old son. The toy should not be played with inside a bathtub. It is a fun for my son to play with out of water in his bedroom. The sounds effects add a realistic touch. The looks like it would be a faster design in water. It is about a twenty inches long. I feel that the price is fair for the product I received. Comes with a convenient sturdy stand for display. I am satisfied with its overall detailed look and size.

So the sound effects really don't appear to have much (or anything) to do with the submarine. It is as if they borrowed sounds they already had from other toys around the factory rather than taking the effort to get proper submarine noises. How about a SONAR ping? Or a torpedo launch? Or a dive klaxon? Or a radiation leak alarm? If you're going to buy a child's toy with sound effects, they had better be cool enough to outweigh the parental sacrifice of having to listen to it over and over again. The submarine itself is what you'd expect. It is modeled on the Virginia Class attack submarine, but adds all manner of extra, inexplicable markings. And then there are the strange, greatly out of scale weapons, a "torpedo" that looks nothing like a torpedo, an AIM-9L Sidewinder, and what looks like an AIM-54 but is marked X-58E. Again, it looks like they scrounged around the factory and included stuff they already had from other sets.I was not expecting much with this toy and I still managed to be disappointed.

I like the way it looks on the display stand. The length and profile look good enough for what this is (a simple toy). There are 3 buttons on top which activate 3 different sounds for a few seconds.* The first sounds like an air-raid siren to me* The middle one starts off with what sounds like could be an actual air-raid on the submarine when it was on the surface and caught by surprise* The 3rd button sounds more like a foghornThe 3 extra pieces (torpedo and missiles) do not fit anywhere on it and are even more unrealisticI still like it though. It looks good on my desk.

I really like this submarine toy/display cause it looks somewhat realistic. The submarine comes with missiles and a stand if you wish to display the submarine on a shelf, etc. The submarine is made of good plastic materials and is about 16 inches long. Great toy/display overall.
