Our organization operates a Geo-Chemistry Laboratory which researches various ore samples for micro-quantities of precious metals. These crucibles last 3 cycles before cracking.Our furnace temperatures never exceed 1200C.The crucibles are light and durable. The color clarity is good in not interfering with our post-melting microscopic examinations.Most importantly, the material these crucibles are made of do not contaminate our samples. There is no bleeding, oxidation residue or evaporation of crucible substance that is released during melting.They hold-up to water - which we use in dissolving borax slag.

There is nothing I dislike about this crucible. Its exactly as described. Fast shipment and great product. Would recommend to other buyers.

I've purchased about a dozen of these crucibles. I use them for making refractory cements. My typical temp profile ramps these to 1600 C at 10 C/min, holds for 4 hr, then cools at 10 C/min. They last 2-3 cycles before they crack. I can still use them once or twice after that before they break. At $30 each this performance is fine for my application.Don't expect these crucibles to be perfectly round.

it cracked and broke apart on the first use. Didnt even get all the way to 1000 F. if you are going to do more than boil water dont get it.
