I used it for a cover plate in a successful attempt to make synthetic rubies/sapphires with a tig welder. The 1/8 tungsten rod I was using melted before any amount of the plate could sublime, but after the gem mix was far beyound melting. It held without cracks, crators, or any kind of thermal or physical damage occuring.

It's pretty dense, and came without the corners broken off like another I ordered.

out of three I have only had one that I had issues with, in one there was a section that was like a solid piece of something other than graphite after breaking a couple bits on a cnc, I had to remove the chunk with hand tools. The other two were spot on and made amazing molds. Will be buying more.
